Thanks for the details, dont see what I need there though. Here are some more details:
As I understand it the BAS system works by sensing the rate at which the break pedal is pressed and then takes over if it thinks the driver is trying to emergency stop. (youtube "brake assist system")
The item in the picture is some sort of pressure sensor and is the only sensor on the servo so im specuating this could be the problem.
Disconnecting the battery for a while doesnt clear the error. It comes up right away when the ignition is on, engine doesnt need to be running.
Disconnecting the cable from the sensor doesnt raise any other errors which is encouraging.
If any of you guys can confirm that this sensor is part of the BAS system that would help me on my way.
Anyone who is keen could unplug the cable (easy) from the sensor and see what error appears on the dash ("service brake assist"?). Maybe then have to disconnect the battery for a while to clear the error though so that might put folks off.
