  Drivers seat broken trim
Posted by: Big Dave2 - 15:th-Aug-2020, 20:18:46 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (10)

I noticed last night the side trim on my drivers side leather seat (Elite trim) is cracked and broken. Not sure if it's the hot weather we've recently had, or my fat ass that's caused it - lol

I don't have a photo of the damage, sorry, but I believe from searching the part No is 13257102.

It has multiple seat adjustment (manual adjust) as well as electric lumbar support adjust.

1. Can someone confirm I have the correct part No for my leather seat side trim (drivers side).
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Vauxh...4205273882
The link is just an example, I've found a cheaper genuine part, but the picture was crap. See photo from link below.

2. It is easy to change? i.e. does the seat have to be removed from the car, or can it be replaced in situ? The levers/handles look easy enough to remove by just pulling off a cover to reveal the screws.

Thanks.

Retro fit sport and tour buttons
Posted by: syscleaner - 15:th-Aug-2020, 17:36:23 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (4)

Hello all,

I found a guy over here that can install sport and tour button with limited functions. (Steering wheel and accelerator sensitivity, Auto gearbox shift down etc)

However, upon my checkings I do not have the looms that are necessary. While I was waiting for my buttons to arrive I would like complete the loom on hand so if possible can someone (probably rusty Hi rusty  ) supply me with the pinout for the BCM and the buttons.

PS I tried gme-infotech portal but its name changed as servicebox even I made necessary registrations I coudn't open the old system, also I never able to find cable data over system :S

Anyways thanks in advance...

Ow I found BCM side over the from

If I just get the sport and tour button parts I will be very appricated...

Newbie Urgent Wiper Washer Fault help
Posted by: ronseal - 14:th-Aug-2020, 18:34:45 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (8)

Firstly hi Everyone

new to this forum so hopeful be able to get some help form you guys as heard some good things...

I have a 2014 Astra J 1.7 Diesel that's just failed its MOT due to wipers not providing water.

both front and back decided to stop so did the usual, blew some air through the pipes and cleaned the nozzles and washer bottle out

wasn't getting a hum from the motor when the stalk was pulled forward or backwards so purchased a new washer pump which solved the rear issue but the front still wasn't working so bought a new stalk from Vauxhall fitted that and no change.

when you push backwards everything works as it should, when you pull forward the wipers sweep as normal but no motor sound or water.

its not the pipes as i swapped round the fittings so pressing backwards sprayed the front and everything was OK

however doesn't seem to want to engage the motor when pulled forward

anyone got any ideas, it doesn't come up with any errors that i can see so very puzzled, have i missed something simple or is this a modual or earthing issue and can it be solved easily.

got a free re-test in 7 days so limited time to fix and this is all it failed on so any help would be much appreciated

over to you guys and girls

  Distance in miles between regeneration

Hi guys after recently having a new dpf fitted I'm keen to keep it well maintained.
Was wondering what sort of miles people are getting between regens?

  Drive belt or faulty tensioner?
Posted by: LegendOfEagle - 13:th-Aug-2020, 12:15:33 - Forum: Request for information - Replies (1)

Hi all

Sorry not sure if I have posted this in the wrong section. I've got a real problem with my engine as you can hear in the video attached below.

LINK: https://photos.app.goo.gl/FTHGZEaVBhbVQGQV7

Now I'm not sure if this could be a bad pulley, bad drive belt or even faulty AC Compressor. As I've learnt the noise stops when I turn my AC off.

Any opinion highly appreciated.

  2016 GTC limited edition questions
Posted by: SMS19 - 13:th-Aug-2020, 09:05:04 - Forum: Mechanical - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I have just picked up my 2016 GTC limited edition 1.6CDTI and have a few questions.

Did this model of GTC come from the factory with lower suspension if so how many mm is it dropped by compared to other models?

I have the 20" alloys and feel it sits a little too high but don't want to wreck the ride by lowering it by too much if I decide to lower it. What springs would most people recommend?

Would springs from a VXR fit as it looks to sit the perfect hight?

Another problem I have noticed when looking online for parts most online checkers only show "GTC to 2015" in the drop-down menus and then don't have the 1.6CDTi in the list of vehicles. Do most of the 1.7CDTI parts fit or what's the trick to finding the correct parts?

Cheers

Headlight bulbs on a 16 GTC Limited Ed
Posted by: SMS19 - 13:th-Aug-2020, 08:53:56 - Forum: Lighting - Replies (1)

Hi All,

I just picked up my 2016 GTC Limited Edition 1.6CDTI yesterday but have a few questions around headlights. The more I look online the more confused I get, does the 16-17 Limited Ed have different headlights from the previous models as it looks like the same bulb is used for both high beam and dipped?

I can hear a mechanical noise coming from the headlights when flicking from high to low beam.

I plan to order these https://www.hids-direct.co.uk/580-w21-5w...air-white/ as per the DRL thread but I'm not 100% sure what bulbs I need to get for the headlights.

For the main/dipped beam do I just need a standard H7 55v 447?

A link to something white that would closely match the DLR's would be great.

Cheers

Astra J 1.6 A16XER (115 hp) 2010 Outer Belt (and perhaps Timing Belt, too
Posted by: Acond - 12:th-Aug-2020, 13:04:34 - Forum: Mechanical - Replies (1)

So 77 000 km behind and 10 years, outer and timing belt not yet changed. Heard that when changing outer belt you have to release the tensioner by taking the right inner wing away etc. Is it so? Any tips. Perhaps time to do timing belt, too? Is it normal job (done V6 several times so basically I can do it but never touched 1.6). What is timing belt change interval? How about water pump? Recommendation for kits?
