Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
Recently got the "AC Off Due To High Engine Temp" warning, and an OBD II dongle said it was a P0128. At the same time the temp gauge went to minimum. Checked under the bonnet and the fan wasn't running even though we watched the coolant temp run up past 90C.
I'm no mechanic, but my local independent garage swapped out the engine temp sensor, topped up the coolant, cleared down the error code, and everything was back to normal. Indeed after driving home from the garage, the fan was running and the coolant was around 80C.
Two weeks later, and the warning has come on again, on the same journey at the same point (about 20 mins from cold). I doubt the new sensor (genuine Vauxhall part) has failed. One additional clue is that on both occasions, the car had been washed a few hours earlier, but I really doubt that it's water ingress causing the problem.
My guess is that may be there's a loose or damaged wire, and that replacing the stat was a temporary fix. The car has done less than 30,000 miles.
Any clues? Torn between taking it back to the local (friendly and very helpful) independent garage, or taking it to Vauxhall (which will be difficult as I am avoiding public transport due to the virus).
So this has been a long time in planning, but on Friday I finally received the keys to my new house
As part of the purchase, it actually came with the site sales office as a double garage giving me some near 50sqm on workshop space (approximately 7mx7m in size).
The bare concrete floor requires sealing and I'm considering putting down a two part epoxy flooring and wanted to ask about if anyone had a) any experience of this and b) knew of an epoxy supplier in the UK that also supply "flecked" flooring? I'm kind of liking a gloss black with a light glittery type flecking to it (it would help with future plans.)
I have an Astra J hatchback, 2015 reg, I think it is “pre facelift” but not sure.
It has slow punctures on both off side wheels
My tyre garage (Formula 1 Autos) told me that air is leaking from between the valve body and the alloy wheel seat.
They say that if I can get hold of replacement valves they will replace them. They say that this will not involve disturbing the TPMS.
Are they correct?
Is the TPMS separate from the valve on this car? All I can find are combined TPMS and valve units.
Is it worth just screwing the nut down a bit?
I have heard of “screwed type” and “clipped type”, TPMS which type do I have?
Do I have manual learn or auto learn?
I have attached images of
1. Mine in place
2. Version A available on internet looks like mine
3. Version B on internet. Is this the same as A but with the securing nut removed?
4. Valve only, with no tpms, is this designed for my car?
A large reputable local tyre fitter, Micheldever Tyres, have a universal tpms device called an i-smart, does anyone know anything about this brand?
Just installed a boost gauge in my astra J 1.6 turbo. I'm far from a mechanic but managed with help from youtube. Anyone stuck on theirs give me a shout and I will try and help.
Replaced both blown bulbs this morning and are working fine but the "Check Number Plate Lamp" error is still coming on when ignition turned on. Any ideas?

I installed the navi 950 in the Buick encore, reprogrammed the EEPROM with the Buick encore VIN and everything went great (head unit works fine). After leaving the car locked for a while and turning on the head unit again, there is no sound at all even turning signals or open door sounds dissapear.
