  Front Fogs on preface
Posted by: dsknectd - 19:th-Jul-2020, 02:39:37 - Forum: Medium cars Astra, Cascada, Vectra, Monaro & Insignia - Replies (3)

Hi all

im going to be retrofitting front fogs to my SE bypassing the BCM and wiring them in myself
but i have the switch unit out of an sri that has the front and rear buttons
as im trying to keep it as standard as poss i would like to know if anyone has a pin out of the switch unit
or knows which pin in the load signal pin to go to the relay
i have included a quick diagram on how i am going to run the fogs
so one you know what im talking about and two if anyone else wants to try it so you dont need to get a VCI code
as i believe with the switch unit and op-com you can turn on the IPC light so that will come on like normal when you turn the front fogs on and off

thanks dsknectd

1.6 cdti 5 door exhaust tip?
Posted by: h4r7y - 16:th-Jul-2020, 15:44:23 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (1)

I wonder if anyone else has wanted a visible exhaust tip for their 1.6cdti 5 door? On the 2.0 cdti you can see the exhaust under the rear bumpers valance, does anyone know if its easy to swap over from the 2 litre car? Or could i just buy the bumper insert and a backbox after that? (Im led to believe theres little point in getting anything performance related for a diesel exhaust?)

Thanks in advance!

  Bluetooth/Dab retrofit Navi950?
Posted by: Bsouthby - 16:th-Jul-2020, 15:23:04 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Howto's - Replies (5)

Hello,

I have recently bought my Astra J After having an Astra K As my company car (Couldnt quite afford the K :()

Its a 65 plate Astra Tourer 1.6 cdti

It came with a cd400 and an after market bluetooth thing which is okay but doesnt give me any options on the radio itself. So I dont know whos calling with looking at my phone or dont know what music is playing so its kinda pointless.

I've done alot of searching on google and on here about retofitting and upgrading to different radios. Ive done this before with my 58 plate astra with tech-2 but now it looks a bit different.

What I really want to know are my options

I want bluetooth dab and satnav does the J have an apple car play radio like the K? That's what I have in my company car and if I could have anything like that I'll be happy preferably oem and not after market.

Also maybe something that can do parking sensors or reverse camera as this car is massive and doesn't have anything to help me whilst reversing.

Many thanks,

Ben

  P0193 Code Help
Posted by: yessi - 10:th-Jul-2020, 08:49:54 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (3)

Good Morning All,

This has been documented in my thread a while back but hopefully more people will see this here and provide help.

https://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-yes...ra-J-Elite

I've got a recurring issue and I've already changed a number of things however the issue persists.

When I start the car, randomly, the car sometimes will start to crank, stop and then continue and eventually start. When this happens however it enters some sort of limp mode and advises 'Service Vehicle Soon'. So to confirm, the car struggled to start but started first time, out of the drive, no power. Struggles to rev past 2k and over 15mph is a push but not EML light on.

The quickest way to resolve this I have found is to clear the fault codes and the car starts fine next time around.

Plugging my OBD and Delphi in I get the P0193 error it states Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit, high voltage. I've already changed the fuel rail sensor for a brand new part and the issue still persists.

What on earth could be causing this?

I've already done the following:

- Changes Glow Plug Cyl 3, my car has the stop start so really expensive to change all of them.
- Changed Fuel Rail High Pressure Sensor
- Removed, cleaned and tested EGR Valve. Cleaned first time around when this happened, we had it off and tested the mechanism off the battery, the EGR opened and closed without issue.

GTC limited edition alloy wheel paint code
Posted by: Nathan191210 - 9:th-Jul-2020, 23:35:25 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (5)

Ive refurbed alloys in the past using a dremel, varying git sandpaper, filler, primer, paint and clear coats. Generally it has turned out well.

I plan to try to do the same to my GTC limited edition alloys soon. Originally I thought they where diamond cut due to the coloring and texture, but at closer inspection and a bit of sanding I believe them to be painted.

Example wheels

Can anyone confirm that they are painted? or am I completely wrong.  Im looking for the correct paint code for the lighter outer sliver.

Cheers

Astra J SRI 13 Plate - Radiator Fan
Posted by: Gavin1506 - 6:th-Jul-2020, 22:01:04 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (2)

Good evening guys,

looking to see if anyone can help with a problem i have with my 13 plate Astra J SRI,

For a while the radiator fan was staying on (common issue i know), i didnt do anything about it until recently,

I have replaced the thermostat and housing, the temperature sensor, checked that all the fuses are intact, removed the sensor from the air filter and still nothing from the fan,

I kept getting the message "coolant level low - add Coolant" i replaced the expansion tank and now ok,

I have seen that there could be an issue with the relay? unsure which one it is as its not mentioned in the handbook,

I have also ordered test leads to see if the fan works when i connect to the battery...

coming a bit unstuck now and just wondered if anyone had any other ideas i could try before i put it into the garage?

Thanks
Gavin

  Boot trim clip
Posted by: leighton.read@sky.com - 6:th-Jul-2020, 18:27:33 - Forum: Request for information - Replies (2)

Does anyone have a part number for the blue clips used to hold the boot trim in place.

Done a bit of browsing and it seems there may be different sizes of these.

  NAVI 950 DAB+ Upgrade
Posted by: leighton.read@sky.com - 3:rd-Jul-2020, 19:09:36 - Forum: ICE - Replies (10)

I bet this has been posted before as it must be a common ask but I'm after a guide to upgrading an existing NAVI950 to add DAB+ capability.
Can someone advise the parts required (other than a U4D module and DAB antenna) and if any coding is needed for the system to recognize the new module?

Thanks in advance

Possible to install boot fuse board?
Posted by: Find_By_SQL - 2:nd-Jul-2020, 17:45:52 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (3)

Hello,

I know this is probably a stupid idea and question but is it possible to install a rear boot fuse board?

If it is possible I want to install TPMS and an anti dazzling mirror, unless all this can be done without a rear fuse board?

I look forward to seeing the comments,
Thank you,
Callum. W.
