  Insignia tpms
Posted by: AlexFitton - 26:th-Jun-2020, 22:09:26 - Forum: Medium cars Astra, Cascada, Vectra, Monaro & Insignia - Replies (6)

Hi,

I have a question regarding my car.

I have a 2011 SRI nav with 18inch alloys.

It appears the wheels have the tpms sensors built in but there doesnt seem to be an option within the car to monitor the pressures.

Is this normal for my age of car? On the earlier version is it just the light on the dash which illuminates?

Thanks

Alex

I bought a used GTC! - Fantastic car but a few issues i could do with advice about
Posted by: Mattymush - 25:th-Jun-2020, 22:32:25 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (5)

Hey all,

just bought a 2L GTC, and its fab, 42k miles, 7 years old, was a Cat D, but has full Mots (all passed but had a few advisories here and there) going back 6 years and well.... I got it for a pretty cheap price so despite the issues I'm a happy bunny

So the good - Drives wonderfully, and the Dab/stereo is fantastic and looks pretty lovely too (white).

But, the issues

No parking sensors - have a "service parking sensor" warning

No Cruise control

and no air con.

Now the aircon Im hoping is nothing more than a refill job, but the other things I really don't know.

What made it Cat D I'm not to sure about, but there is some fixed bodywork on the front left side. My current theory is was in a crash and in repairing it (possibly to save money) the parking sensors and cruise control were ignored/removed/damaged. After all they are not needed for a mot.

Its late in the day, so all I've been able to do is check the fuses for the parking sensor - the fuse was fine.

And we have a diagnostic reader but that showing no errors - but every chance Ive not set that up correctly (ill try again later)

Anyway, nice to be here, and if you have any thoughts or 1st plan of attack on any of these Id love to hear it!

  Auto Lights and Bluetooth Retrofit
Posted by: kalum0101 - 24:th-Jun-2020, 06:34:55 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (5)

Good Morning

Just picked up a used 2014 astra design as I am quickly outgrowing my 09 fiesta and was just wondering how easy it would be to add automatic headlights and bluetooth to the astra, as these are things I am accustom to having on the fiesta. I have the Navi 650 and when I attempt to use the bluetooth, it just says 'Not available'.

Thank You

  Changing rear brake discs
Posted by: Big Dave2 - 23:rd-Jun-2020, 13:43:09 - Forum: Mechanical - Replies (3)

Hi,

I've already found the how2 for changing the front and rear pads, but no mention (that I can find) of also changing the rear discs on a 2.0 CDti with 292mm discs.

Anyone know the socket sizes I need, and what the torque settings are?

I have a rewind tool, and it was previously mentioned to me that both pistons need rotating back in clockwise. Is that correct?

Also, I have a traditional handbrake that is operated via a lever. Anything I need to know about before attempting to change the discs and pads? i.e. does it need adjusting afterwards?
I did see mention somewhere to just keep lifting up and releasing the handbrake lever until the brakes adjust themselves. Is this correct?

Thanks.

Hi guys had the p2453 code come up (dpf pressure sensor)... Had it replaced by vauxhall last week... At the weekend was driving and svs message came up .. Plugged opcom in and its the same p2453 error code?
Surely sensors last more than 4 days?

Hi all,

within the next few weeks im going to be purchasing a new Headunit for my 2013 Astra J. The main reason for purchasing a new stereo is due to the fact mine doesn't have Bluetooth. I'm currently looking at the unit below to purchase, but would be open to any suggestions with links on other options.

Got another car and no room to keep this one. She’ll be missed when she finally gets a new keeper.

She looks sporty but it’s neither a sports car nor was it ever driven that way.

It’s been well looked after and I’ve been its 2nd owner since November 2016 at 13,181miles on the clock. It’s currently at 44,040. FSH, 7 stamps of which 6 were done by Main Dealer (see pics). Two keys and V5C are in my name.

Modifications done:
-Tinted windows.
-19x8.5 ET35 Bola CSR wheels in shadow chrome and some kerb damage but I still have the OEM springs and they come free for buyers who prefer OEM height.
-Aftermarket side skirts.
-Smoked indicators.
-Debadged at the rear. Griffin logo sprayed black.
-Aftermarket headlamps with Xenon bulbs in main beam only. I do get an error message as it needs a new resistor. Doesn’t affect the car’s performance whatsoever.
-Plasti dipped front grill in black and rear diffuser in white.
-Had a front splitter which has now been removed.

Driver’s heated seat works intermittently. Been fixed twice by main dealer but problem still persists. Over time I’ve learned to do without it. The passenger’s side works fine.

A few age related marks here and there but everything else works as it should. Mileage will go up as it is my daily. All in all, she’s a decent looking cruiser but sadly, it’s time to part with it.

Thanks for taking the time to read. Car is mine and is located at Harrow, North London. I’m asking for £6250 but open to reasonable offers. Payment - bank transfer only.

Please get in touch to arrange a viewing. Weekends are easier but can do week days where possible. See images below. Can upload more if you need me to. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
Franklin.
