Hi guys I got 2015 Astra GTC 2.0 ,
I have upgraded my radio to android head unit , originally I had cd400 plus with dab and usb ,
I know would like to use my existing shark fin antenna to plug in the dab in to my headunit ,when I took my old cd400 unit I didn't find any Dab connector there or anything there was is standard FM antenna ? I have searched the forums and found that there should be a seperate box for the dab and usb unit ,could any one confirm they actually exist and where about are they located ?
Hi guys, hope you're all going good
I had a problem with my Astra's crankshaft so I would like to share with you my experience so maybe I may have some advice from you or even answer your questions if you have any.
Actually, a crankshaft bearing broke while driving on the highway which caused the engine to stop, after several attempts, the engine never started because it was blocked.
the breakage of the bearing caused damage to the crankshaft so I decided to change the crankshaft for a new one.
Here are some photos of the engine disassembled and it is not yet assembled because I am waiting for the crankshaft which comes from Spain.
Here are some photos.
As you can see here, the pistons are in a good shape so I won't change them
And now those are the crankshaft bearings, some of them are in bad shape and one of them is broken as you can see it's on my hand, we found it like that in the oil :O
It's a 2.0 cdti 160 engine with an automatic gearbox with about 170 000km which is 105 000 in miles
Feel free to to replay if you have and questions or advice.
Cheers
The engine is not yet assembled because I have not yet received the crankshaft that I ordered from Spain.
I will keep posting pics if I find something interesting to post. And sorry for my bad English, I'm from France.
Hello everyone,
I have an Opel Astra J 2.0 cdti automatic and since I bought it (2 years ago) I’m having an issue with the instrument cluster.
Actually it doesn’t show all the menus and never shows me messages when there’s a problem with the car, I tried to reprogram with op-com but I can’t access to it (I don’t know why) and I took it to Opel France and they told me you need to change the instrument cluster without any explanation.
So I decide to change it and I bought a used instrument cluster with almost the same number of kilometres and the same part number (13336484) and it works great and I reprogrammed it using I’m-com and now it shows all the menus I wanted to see.
But the issue is that it doesn’t show the mileage, it shows this ( - - - - - - ) instead of the mileage.
Om-com is showing me there’s a problem with the immobilizer identifier.
I searched so much to find a solution but I couldn’t find anything.
The pic with the yellow screws is the used instrument cluster I bought and the other one is the original.
So could you please help me ?
just bought a 2L GTC, and its fab, 42k miles, 7 years old, was a Cat D, but has full Mots (all passed but had a few advisories here and there) going back 6 years and well.... I got it for a pretty cheap price so despite the issues I'm a happy bunny
So the good - Drives wonderfully, and the Dab/stereo is fantastic and looks pretty lovely too (white).
But, the issues
No parking sensors - have a "service parking sensor" warning
No Cruise control
and no air con.
Now the aircon Im hoping is nothing more than a refill job, but the other things I really don't know.
What made it Cat D I'm not to sure about, but there is some fixed bodywork on the front left side. My current theory is was in a crash and in repairing it (possibly to save money) the parking sensors and cruise control were ignored/removed/damaged. After all they are not needed for a mot.
Its late in the day, so all I've been able to do is check the fuses for the parking sensor - the fuse was fine.
And we have a diagnostic reader but that showing no errors - but every chance Ive not set that up correctly (ill try again later)
Anyway, nice to be here, and if you have any thoughts or 1st plan of attack on any of these Id love to hear it!
just seeing what mileage other diesel owners have covered. my 64 plate 2.0 cdti is on 74,000 only issue was a broken clutch spring at 50,000. due a cambelt and water pump anytime soon.
Just picked up a used 2014 astra design as I am quickly outgrowing my 09 fiesta and was just wondering how easy it would be to add automatic headlights and bluetooth to the astra, as these are things I am accustom to having on the fiesta. I have the Navi 650 and when I attempt to use the bluetooth, it just says 'Not available'.
I've already found the how2 for changing the front and rear pads, but no mention (that I can find) of also changing the rear discs on a 2.0 CDti with 292mm discs.
Anyone know the socket sizes I need, and what the torque settings are?
I have a rewind tool, and it was previously mentioned to me that both pistons need rotating back in clockwise. Is that correct?
Also, I have a traditional handbrake that is operated via a lever. Anything I need to know about before attempting to change the discs and pads? i.e. does it need adjusting afterwards?
I did see mention somewhere to just keep lifting up and releasing the handbrake lever until the brakes adjust themselves. Is this correct?
