Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
I recently had to change the clock unit on my Astra J (as per the attached image). Since doing so my steering controls have stopped working properly with my Sony stereo (XAV-AX3005DB).
All settings are the same, the dip switches on the interface are as they should be for a 4 line display and Sony unit (confirmed by Connects2). The odd thing is that if I pull the power on the kit and then plug it all back in it seems to work correctly for five minutes and then suddenly the volume buttons don't work and the skip track buttons become the volume. Annoyingly when I try and create custom mappings on the stereo it tells me I can't use the same button twice (it thinks volume up and down are one button).
I seem to be getting nowhere with Connects2 and the only thing that's changed is the clock unit (which has had the settings mirrored to the old one such as steering control seven etc).
I'm really at my wits end here and would welcome any advice!
Hi
I had total power loss in my 2013 reg astra J sri .
There was a problem when i drove the car in that the power steering was very hard to turn steering wheel but then back to normal.
!0 minutes later suddenly All power went on the car without warning.. No lights, engine died, total power loss...
Tried jump starting but still nothing happens & all connections to battery seem ok...
Only thing i can think of is that i got battery changed 3 weeks ago so maybe a loose wire somewhere.
Could it be alternator or what else can cause a total loss of power.
Car parked up now & waiting to go to garage tomorrow .....
I have been toying with the idea off fitting a sub in my car for a while now. I don't find the sound quality bad on the standard set up, just that it lacks some bass.
I was thinking off a slim sub and amp in the boot but have decided against it due to needing the space still.
I am now looking at a underseat subwoofer now. Won't be as bassey as one in the boot, but think it will still add more than it is now.
Hi fellas. I know the CD400 threads have been done to death, but please dont shoot me for one more
Last week I got my first ever Vauxhall Insignia. 2012 cdti SE, with the CD400 head unit.
I know the DAB signal is hit & miss in the UK, but my signal goes from perfect, to non existant within driving 20 feet. Our DAB signal in the house is bang on, so Id say we are well within transmitter range. Ive seen on here the CD500 is more superior but until then, could anyone point me towards a quick fix please? Is it worth spending a few quid on a shark fin aerial? Is it possible a signal booster would help? I've been unlucky enough to own Fords for 10yrs, so at the moment im a Vauxhall Virgin. Thanks in advance
Dud

Hi,
Sorry for my English, I'm from Portugal.
I have an Astra J 2011 1.6 turbo, I would like to remove the shock absorbers and the system (Flex ride) without giving errors.
They can help.
I was attempting to change the key fob for my Astra J as the flip bit had become stuck and it looked simple enough. Unfortunately had a nightmare trying to open the original key and have ended up damaging the chip inside I rang Vauxhall and they said it'd be look at around £200 (not going to do that).
Has anyone got any alternative solutions? Could I potentially use another Astra J keys chip and program it to my car?
Always felt the gears are a bit stiff, is there a way of checking the oil level, or does something else somewhere else need some lubrication?
Comparing to my other cars, both Insignia's with the same engine, the Astra really requires more force on the gearstick to engage, not harsh, but noticably more pressure.
Clutch is fine, we have had to four years and its been the same since day 1.
