hi, hope this is posted in the correct place. new user! i have recently purchased an astra 1.7 ecoflex a17dte start/stop. 2013. i think that the engine is very noisy, especially on acceleration. is this normal? i previously owned a corsa d 1.7 cdti dtr and the engine in that was much quieter and more muffled sounding. i am searching and searching and not having any luck in finding any info about this.

I've got the a17dtc and it's only really noisy when I have the windows open then it sounds like a truck! Ha. With the windows closed its pretty damn quiet for a diesel

Also, when I'm slowing down from say 40 ish the engine still in drive, it makes like a knocking / tapping noise. Would this be normal? I'm thinking of taking it into a garage to get it looked at ?

Had my car almost 3 years and never had that issue! Could it be to do with the stop start? I don't have that feature on mine
