Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
So I'm planning to map my 5 door once my warranty runs out but I've got a few questions, please respond with corresponding numbers:
1. How much am I going to pay, I want the best
2. Can I opt for bhp increase AND mpg increase?
3. What are the downsides of a map?
4. Why don't manufacturers out these maps on in the factory?
5. Can anyone recommend any good places to get it done
1. £350-500
2. A map optimises the cars performance thus increasing power & the by-product is an increase in mpg.
3. Once it's done, it's done... A dtuk box can be removed & sold on. Greater wear on the vehicle I.e. clutch but no doubt minimal.
4. Because of efficiency & emissions usually.
5. AMDes***
A custome map will always be better than a tuning box using a generic map. Get one with a rolling road so it can be tuned specifically for your cares dynamics.
Try performance Torque. Well priced and the chap really knows his stuff. He does some fantastic jobs
don't waste your money on a DTUK box
as said above there is a software update from vauxhall going around at the moment that is making the DTUK red box not work correctly
get a proper map done go to thorney motorsport 35ps 75nm TMS - ECU remap - by Thorney Motorsport
or use bluefin super chips this is a removable map 25 bhp 73nm https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&...2518,d.d2k
or regal autosport not sure on what they can do but there good
Thorny maps are over priced and the warrenty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Use performance torque save yourself £150, they're not a mobile mapper and have a great reputation on a lot of other forums.
Try this guy antonio very good with vauxhalls £500 for a custom map for your car 230 bhp out of the 2.0 cdtdi astra once the lock is taken out of the ecu
He is just outside chester
J1ODYA Wrote:Jesus £500 is way expensive... and 230bhp... any proof? That is a lot of gain!!!
It may be expensive but it's a one of map for you and you car
And as it's a try core ecu it has to be unlocked by a specialist before he xan map the car
He is one of the small amount of people who I would trust with my pride and joy
Mine is going to him very soon
230 bhp it would be rude not to
Can't remember what he said about the toque figures but it's very good
I will try and find out
Give him a ring tell him D1cko told you about hi and if you offer him cash you will get a discount
No problem he has had his clet manta in total vauxhall twice
And he has an awesome vx220 two
He certainly knows what he us doing ona vauxhall
I would highly recommend him
kevin is correct they can find it if they want to but they would have to have reason to look for it
bluefin is a removable map that you can take off if you want when you go back to the dealers and then put it back on after
or fit a tuning box that you can also remove there the best options for the life time warranty
Rusty2009 Wrote:You still have to go back to vauxhall every year to reactivate the lifetime warranty and they plug it onto the MDI and do any updates etc.
I knew they had to pop back every year, just didn't realise they went to the hassle of plugging it in too.
