Ah ok. Yeah i didnt mean the dtuk box might have affected the s160 screen. I Meant the vx update on ecm might have stopped the dtuk box working which is what I thought you were refering to. We are probably talking about different things!

Haha. I get it now. yes tricky one choosing between an working dtuk vs software update. I have the latest software update and run a racechip one. No issues. Don't know why dtuk battle with this.....

Hi all,

Is there a way to tethter data from an iphoneto the s160 for traffic purposes?
I dont have a dongle etc. and in all fairness not planning on having one either as i don't think I will need much data.

Also, what are the benefits of the Kotix upgrade?

Many thanks!

Morning,

Can someone please clarify if the dash buttons ( Front of CD400 ) should work as before with the M072?
I've had the unit now for a couple weeks(flashed with Kotix), and came across the following "niggles":

1. Not all dash buttons work, and the ones that do don't correspond to correct functions - is this right?
2. Bluetooth takes over the whole screen, when navigating the whole screen gets replaced by the bluetooth screen, therefore loosing nav for the duration of the call
3. Poweramp does not automatically resume playing after the phone has been put down, when driving i have to:
- Put the phone down
- Return to PowerAmp & press play
- Return to main screen
- Reselect Nav
4. I am unable to fastforward the songs from either the steering wheel or the dash ( only works via the touch screen )

There are probably more, but any advice with the above would be really great

Thanks

Patrick ,

Re : Kotix

The preselect buttons (1-6) don't appear to work when using the NewMusic default music player. The directional arrows buttons do work though as well as the steering controls. (IIRC it was the same issue with the standard ROM trying to use the 1-6 preselect buttons)

The 1-6 preselect buttons can be programmed for the radio app but it's using the scan and store radio station scanner. (i.e. It only saves the first 6 stations it comes across and there is no way that I have found to set them yourself so pretty useless actually. Unless I'm missing something here which is quite possible)

Point 1. Which buttons are you referring to here ? If it's the AUX, CD/DVD, FAV ones, yes some of them can be set using the S160 Keys app.
I have Aux set to run NewMusic default player and I have FAV programmed to run Google Maps.

Point 2. I use Google Maps and don't have that issue where Bluetooth takes over all of the screen. The caller details appear across the top 20% of the screen but the rest of the Google Maps Nav screen is displayed. (I tested that this morning on the way to Tesco)

Point 3. I've tried a bunch of different music players but when it's all said and done, each one of them has a problem or 2 in some or other way.

The problems encountered are:-
1. Can't use steering controls.
2. Can't find the SD card
3. Can't skip tracks
4. Crashes constantly
5. Poor user interface design or just not suitable to the screen layout
6. Sound disappears once the sat nav gives directions.
7. Poor sound

In the end I always revert back to NewMusic which is the most stable and works fine 99.9% of the time. (Default Shuffle function is OFF in the Kotix rom version)
As mentioned above, my AUX button is programmed to run NewMusic

Just my 2 cents worth..

Why can't your iPhone can be used as a mobile hotspot/for tethering ?  Once it is set up as a hotspot, connect to the iPhone using the Wifi settings on the M072. I do this all the time with my Samsung S7 primarily for Google maps.
