  Headunit advice needed
Posted by: shabba - 11:th-Nov-2017, 21:23:25 - Forum: ICE - Replies (12)

I havent got a clue when it comes to changing/ purchasing the correct headunit for my car.

Ideally im looking for bluetooth (dont have presently) a unit with a usb port built in as my car doesnt have one of those either. Satnav and it has to have Android.
I have looked around the forms but its all double dutch to me.
I wouldnt even attempt to install this, so anybody recommend anywhere in the North East of England or North Yorkshire.
Looking at £500 including fitting?

My car is a 2014 model.
Would i be able to fit a Navi650 or Navi950 without difficulty?

Auto lights stuck on main beam?
Posted by: umognog - 9:th-Nov-2017, 17:46:04 - Forum: Lighting - Replies (3)

Alright folks,

After changjng the LED colours in the headlight switch, I've found out main beam is always on.

I need to take it out again and make sure the switch is properly seated of course, but just wanted to check if there were any additional recommendations simultaneously.

  Engine Revs High
Posted by: MoosaM - 9:th-Nov-2017, 15:40:54 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (1)

Hi Folks,

I have a 2011 Astra 2.0 SRI (Diesel) 42k on the clock.

I have noticed (although its very intermittent; 3 over the last 6 months) that when I have set off from traffic lights and change up from 1st to 2nd; I lose power and the revs increase as if I have depressed the clutch and accelerator at the same time. I have had to pull the car over switch it off and start again and all is back to normal.

It drives perfectly fine otherwise, no loss of power or anything.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

  Meriva B 1.7 A17DTS (130) Weird Starting thing
Posted by: TubaMagna8 - 8:th-Nov-2017, 16:18:42 - Forum: Small cars Agila, Merivia, Viva, Adam & Corsa - Replies (4)

Hi All,

Car is the Meriva B 1.7CDTI the 130bhp model, been faultless pretty much, had a new battery a few months ago, Anyway its been coming up with the service vehicle soon message every now and again, but i gather that is for fault codes to be read? it doesn't show up all the time...

Anyway this morning i was out taking pictures somewhere, had driven there engine had been up to temperature and that before i arrived. Put the key in the Ignition had the radio on for 5 mins went to start and it started then died.... did this about 6 times, started straightaway every time, took the key out put it back in and it started and was fine... been fine since, Just wondering if its a warning of something? I looked about and some mention of the EGR valve stuck open maybe?

Grateful for any help.

Best wishes

Jonathan

AUX Ground Loop problem! Can anyone help?
Posted by: bagnallman - 7:th-Nov-2017, 20:49:11 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (4)

Hi

I'm an owner of a 2013 Astra GTC with a slight issue when using the AUX cable for my music.

I have white noise/crackling when plugging into the AUX socket, which I believe is a ground loop isolation problem after some research online. That would mean that there is an earthing/grounding problem somewhere amongst the car's electricals.

Purchasing a ground loop isolator to plug into may be one option - but I was wondering if anyone knew the cause of the issue? Or has had the problem themselves and managed to locate the culprit?

As finding the issue and cleaning/fixing the earth would be my preferred resolution

All the best

:-)
