I bought an Astra J 3 months ago and I was trying to locate vin number punched to the chassis. The Chassis number was covered in surface rust and I could see some numbers so I tried to remove rust with some sand paper and rust remover. Now I cannot see the numbers at all . Is there any product I can use to make the number reappear?

would it be any benefit of installing oil catch can on my 1.7cdti astra?
I got it free but dont know if it is worth it or how to exactly install it...

I recently became the owner of a 2015 1.6 CDTi Opel Astra.
Been reading the forum for a week or two now and found a lot of useful info, so I decided it's time to introduce myself

Hi Everyone - i've just bought a 2010 Astra SRi. Comes with a CD400 main unit, with the nav screen

The screen does not work at all - no display or lights at all.
The controls on the main stereo do not work at all 
The steering wheel controls do work though and i get sound through the speakers.

I have no idea if it came from the factory with the Nav Screen or if previous owner has tried to upgrade and it's not been done correctly.

Any advice on where to start looking?

I'm looking some help I have a 2017 vxr with navi 950 intelilink system and want to know what year the satnav maps are. The newest available are 2018 and I want to make sure before I buy them that they are newer than what I have. I have pictures of the software versions shown on the navi 950 but I'm not sure how to upload them.

Because i`m trying for long time to fix the parking issue, i have only the sound but no visual on cluster, today i used opcom to see what modules i have installed in the car :

cluster - 13355676 ( big screen )
parking module  - 13344459 

Right now my cluster looks like this
   
 and i want this

also because i have the factory front and rear sensors but no visual i wanna change the parking module.

The question is , can someone who have the visual parking module and the new cluster provide me the part numbers .

I want to retrofit Side Blind Spot assist in my GTC.
I know i'll need 2 more side sensors and monuts. 
Possibly a new module. 
and i think i'll DIY the mirror LEDs.

is there anything else i'll need and is it possible to program?
