  Warm Smell?
Posted by: RadicalRooster - 12:th-Nov-2019, 09:55:17 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (3)

Hi all,

I just picked up my Astra J SRi 1.6 at the weekend, very pleased so far.

Something I noticed today on a cold morning...

After driving 30 mins in traffic, getting out the car I could smell this 'warm' smell. Similar to the smell radiators at home give off when they're burning off dust.

I did have the heating on full, but just wondered if this was 'normal'?

Definitely wasn't burning, sniffing near the bonnet (and looking weird) definitely confirms it was coming from there.

My last car never had any strange smells, so just getting accustomed to what's 'normal'.

Thanks!

Hi all. I've just joined and have recently bought a 2013 GTC SRI 1.6. I joined to learn from the more experienced on here as well as hopefully carrying out some sensible upgrades on my car. First I'm going to have it remapped for a bit of extra grunt, then I'll be looking to upgrade the CD400 system to the Navi950, if I can find one complete and get someone to fit it...lol. Anyway, I'll post a few pics when I get the chance to take a couple and I look forward to getting involved on here if I can. Cheers, Roger.

  CD400 upgrade.
Posted by: Hemihunter - 9:th-Nov-2019, 11:55:00 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (2)

Hi all. I've just joined the group and have just bought a 2013 GTC SRI 1.6 Turbo. I have a question about the entertainment centre. I don't know if this subject has been covered before as, like I say, I've just joined. Ok, I have the CD 400 system and even though it has a DAB radio, according to the manual, it doesn't have Bluetooth connectivity for a phone etc. Is this something that can be upgraded and what is needed to complete the swap. Many thanks for any help or advice offered.

  Need Help with my exaust
Posted by: henry2911 - 8:th-Nov-2019, 15:39:04 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (2)

Hello, so this is my firsat post and im in need of help regarding the exaust system on my Astra J 1.6 SRI VX Line.

After some research i thought i found the right schematics for my exaust system and thought the catalyst was right at the front so i bought a cherrybomb exuast becase they're cheap.

However after going to install it today i relised that there is no room to fit it and the oem exaust was a lot more diffrent to what i thought according to the schematics.

I need help finding an exaust that will fiit my car and that wont break the bank, Any help is much appreciated.

  Intercooler Fitting
Posted by: MCG1983 - 7:th-Nov-2019, 09:42:01 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Technical - Replies (1)

Hi, I'm looking for an intercooler kit for the Astra GTC 1.6T 200ps version, engine code A16SHT. But all I can find online is kits for the older Astra GTC 1.6T 180ps version, engine code A16LET.

Does anybody know if the fittings for an intercooler kit are identical on both models?

I know when I was purchasing a downpipe, the fittings were totally different.

Thanks, Steven

  Will fitting downpipe pass MOT?
Posted by: MCG1983 - 4:th-Nov-2019, 01:03:02 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (1)

Hi, I'm looking to fit a downpipe and an intercooler onto my 200PS Astra J GTC, as I have access to a 265PS tuning map with these mods. I am looking to leave the main cat as the standard Vauxhall one, and leave the rest of the exhaust standard too.

Will this pass an MOT?

Thanks.
