  Changed stereo, infotainment stopped working
Posted by: NELLY1996 - 10:th-Jun-2021, 15:43:10 - Forum: Electrical - No Replies

Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has been posted before but I've done tonnes of searching and can't find a similar problem to mine.

Basically I have changed the stereo (cd400) in my Astra J 1.6CDTI 136, to a Sony head unit. After I changed the head unit the infotainment system doesn't work, but it gets power as there is a back light on the unit. I have the Panasonic LCD display and I retrofitted the old 4 line "8 bit" style unit and both have the same problem.

I followed Rusty2009's guide from this website to fit the stereo and even had multiple people at Halfords stumped from this problem.

I've tried the universal patch lead, the Sony specific patch lead. The old style connects2 box without the dipswitches and none of this has worked.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oil Leak at Intercooler pipe / Throttle body
Posted by: everson38 - 9:th-Jun-2021, 23:26:09 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - No Replies

Hey guys

I have a 1.7 62 plate GTC. I have noticed there is a semi decent oil leak coming from the underside of the pipe , where my intercooler pipe meets my throttle body. The issue is, that the clamp seems to be in fully seated and there is no o ring so why is it leaking? I doubt it's a split hose as it was replaced a a couple years back for a new one at the garage where I bought the car?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Glow plug replacement - Things to consider
Posted by: everson38 - 9:th-Jun-2021, 14:43:08 - Forum: Mechanical - Replies (13)

Hey Guys,

I have a 1.7 diesel 62 plate GTC.

I recently had the SVS message on the screen and had it scanned and turns out to by cylinder 3 glow plug and cylinder pressure (see pic).

I consider myself very competent DIYer but never done glow plugs before and obviously I've read the horror stories. Just wanted to know if there are any specific tips , tools , advice I should consider before tackling this job?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  BiTurbo spacers
Posted by: eatmybogbrush - 9:th-Jun-2021, 03:06:46 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - No Replies

I want to fit 15mm spacers as I tried to fit 5mm only to find the nuts would only turn 6 times to tighten and the bolts look way too short, don't want to change the bolt length I want the type that bolt on and the wheel bolts on to the spacer.

Question is will they fit ok and what are good ones to fit, I do have a space about nut deep on the inside of the wheel, anyone fitted them to these 19in BiTurbo wheels as they do seem wide and not much gap on the rear arch.

Hi,

As the month draws to its close there are two things you can do to bag yourself a little something extra from club sponsor Chris Knott.

#1
Get a car insurance quote before noon on 29/5 (our last working day before June) and you could WIN a £100 TUI Travel Voucher:
https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/news/car-in...-vouchers/

You can either request a quote at that link or call us free on 0800 917 2274. We now have a new insurer partner on board that will open up competitive quotes to more of the membership, so give us a try, even if you've tried us before.

#2
Show off your club car in our Virtual Car Show for the chance to WIN one of two Alien Magic Car Cleaning Kits:
https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/news/car-in...hine-2021/

Just add a pic of your car in the reply/comments section on either of these Facebook or Twitter posts and tag it #showandshine:
