Has anyone encountered a very annoying 'humming' sound coming from behind the glovebox in an Astra J upon starting the engine? (1.6 non-turbo in my case) I can't take the noise anymore...
I've read that could possibly be something wrong with the heater-blower.
Cheers!

Hi
If your fan is the culprit make sure it is off prior to starting the car and it won't make a noise .
Could it be the motors that set the air direction ? There are two or three of them and they have gears that can wear, try changing the direction setting before starting the car. You will hear these motors operate if you are listening for it even if they are ok.
