Hi guys, a while back car started making a whirring noise and vx came out with me and he said it was the engine discharging unused boost pressure. Since then it's been doing it an awfull lot.

Forward to about 15 secs and u can hear it when pressing in clutch to change gear. I can hear it on my phone if u can't let me know and I'll get the missus to hold my p

Having a tidy of the garage as it needs it as I need the work bench again now it's getting summer time.

But pushed the car back so the wife could tidy her garden cupboard, and it sounds like the brakes are still on on the rear, I double checked and the hand brake is fully off, also I notice I can see where the brake has been on as it there is a clear mark left on the brake disc.

When driving at low speeds gong over uneven surfaces I can hear a kind of knocking as the car moves around. It only happens on bad Road surfaces, seams to come from the left side?

Anyone throw any ideas at me.
My brakes are noisy so I'm going to change the discs in a few days.
But when I stop driving forward and reverse say onto my drive when I brake I hear a click like something has become unstuck.
Only happens when I reverse from moving forward and only does it once.
Doesn't do it when I go from reverse to forward but when I reverse again.
I've take the wheel off to see if the disc plate is rubbing or the pads not sitting right but seems ok.

Since driving the car today I have started to hear a noise from the engine that haven't heard before. When I accelerate in 2nd and 3rd gear it's sounds like a hair dryer. It's not loud but can notice it. Any ideas? Could it be anything to do with turbo?

Ok so when I turn the car on I get like a clicking chunking sound from behind the dash.

I thought it was due to having the heating on auto so I turned off the auto but noise still there I will try and get a sound clip.

Never used to do it.

Hello guys,

Did a 60,000 KM service exactly one month ago.
I changed the front and rear pads + the rear discs, along with other things.

The car brakes fine, but there's a really annoying squeaking noise.
I called the garage and they said that there shouldn't be any squeaking noise at all, even if the discs and pads aren't original.
I'm gonna go there next week, but I wanted to check with you guys first.

1) Is squeaking normal with brand new discs and pads?

2) I have a lot of dust

Sigh! I thought I'd seen the end of the sloshing problems in my car but now I have a new one :(

I can hear what sounds like A LOT of water sloshing around in the boot area whenever I accelerate, break or turn. I used to hear this noise when I first got my car and it was the fuel in the tank because my tank didn't have baffles. Vauxhall eventually fitted some baffles and that was the end of that, never heard anything since then until today!

Hi all I've been advised by Russel to post on here I have the 1.7 cdti 2011 and I've been getting a grinding /scraping noise coming from the front of the car sometimes it sounds like its coming from the wheel area or even the engine bay ... It don't happen when the car is idle only when driving and the sound increases when I accelerate ... I've recently changed the front break disks and pads but that didn't solve it ... Just been driving and when turning at about 5mph going to pro I heard a weird noise and felt it through steering wheel. Can't really describe it but worried me.

Anyone have any idea what this could be, maybe fluid needs topped up or tyre pressure checked?

Also I thought I may have damaged a spring (drivers side) the other day when I hit a pothole but car has been fine. Hope nothing is damages as can't really afford this atm with baby only 2weeks old haha!
