Hi Guys,
So one of the things I am looking to do this month is install the chrome window trim so that it looks like the standard trim on the higher models...But from what I can tell the official trim has sort of a metal looks to it and it's not really chrome/shiny. Does anyone think the chrome looking trim which I'd be getting would look the same or just tacky?
Thanks

Just thought someone may have seen this installed on an Astra or even another car...Worried about it looking tacky is all. And it potentially rusting...which tbh it shouldn't do should it with it being stainless steel

Have ordered the chrome trim from the company who sold me the fog light trim...Apparently it's not something they stock and is being made for me. Will have it in around 3 weeks so will report back when it's installed to say how it looks .
Not too fussed if it doesn't look like the genuine part, it will be chrome and will match my foglight trim so it's all good

Haha i do too...seems that most people hate it but i think if used properly it's quite effective . Fingers crossed it doesn't develop green rust dots on it like the door handles did! however i think they were a different material and were from someone else

My window trim came today! Took about 2 months but I think it was worth it!

After:
It looks fantastic I think and pretty close to official too! Some parts aren't completely perfect I.e. its not lined up bang on but that was because I cut my thumb open on the metal trim and was bleeding quite a bit while trying to do this haha

Thanks mate! Bit miffed that I cut myself and then wasn't paying attention so a few of them aren't bang on but probably not noticeable to others and if you're not looking closely. Will add this to my progress thread soon too

That actually looks way better than I thought it would!
I'm lucky to have the stock chrome and think it looks good esp against silver. it's a good contrast on the black too.
Are they heko deflectors? How do you find them, just ordered a set for mine.

Yeah they're hekos, looks wise I think they're great! Also I can have the windows open a little bit now when its raining and I don't get wet through lol. But the car is noisier on the motorway than before I had them

And these are from a seller on eBay called auto line accessories limited. I also got my fog light/indicator chrome trim from them too only reason it took so long for this to come was because he didn't actually stock it and it was a specialist request so he had to get the manufacturer in China to make it and ship it

They use 3M tape too for the adhesive which is very strong! Quite thin too which is good as they don't stick out or look like they're aftermarket parts. Feels strong too even though its thin.
Was about 85 quid delivered for all 16 pieces

I think that the parts are 12.
85 pounds including shipping or the shipping's costs are separately?
I saw that the seller don't have the item in his ebay shop.Did he order for you extra?

Sorry could be yeah, and that's 85 including shipping . Yeah you have to email the seller and ask him for this specific part, they're very polite and helpful though!

If you want to remove the factory chrome trim it pulls off the rubber but it wouldn't advise you that unless you have tools to get back on again.

Cheers

You would need the tools a window fitter would have as Wheelan has said its far easier to wrap them on the car.
