Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
2010 Opel Astra J A16XER.
Heated rear window works fine, the mirrors don't at all.
I checked fuse F6 in the engine bay and it is okay.
I checked the heater resistance and both sides are about 10.5 Ohm.
I measured voltage between the positive terminal on the battery and both the fuse and the both terminals on the mirror and every time I measured battery voltage. Testing to the negative battery terminal yields 0 V, which suggest that there is ground potential on the leads and something isn't switching to close the circuit.
I couldn't find any schematics or diagrams and I don't know what to check next.
However this is quit intricate process by removing turbo and DSP, one or two comments on this video claims that all glow plugs can be removed by using a glow plug removal socket set and only removing the oil feeder and heatshield.

Have someone done this before and can confirm this is possible? Would be way easier to just buy such a set and remove them without to much trouble.
I get a SvS fault when I start the car. I used a multimeter to measure the resistance of the glow plugs and one was not working, so I am betting the SvS is a faulty glow plug.
Will the electric current overload the 3 working ones, so they will fail soon? So I need to replace all of them asap? And will a car with 3/4 working glow plugs start fine in really cold weather like -15 Celsius?
Sorry for the really stupid email but thought I'd ask a group of people who'll know more than me.
I purchased an Astra GTC Limited Edition for my wife which came as standard with the 20" wheels.
Unfortunately the road she takes to work is damaged with nasty pot holes and shes damaged her alloys.
I'm looking to get these sent in for repair but we going to put on a set of 18" alloys (can't go lower due to size of the brake kit fitted) but I'm unsure of the wheel setup.
The ones on the car are as follows from what I've found through Vauxhall:
[*]Alloy Wheel 20 inch - 5-Y-spoke
[*]Smart high-quality alloy wheel with 5-Y-spoke design and bi-colour finish.
[*]Fits tyre size 245/40 R 20 95W
[*]Dimensions: 8.5J x 20 ET 41
[*]Bolt pattern: 5 x 115
Anyone have an idea for an 18" wheel with regards to the setup as above.
Thanks to everyone who reads this message and / or replies
My Astra has had the SVS message for a few months now, originally Cylinder #3, and now #4 also. I guess by not replacing the one first, the others are over compensating for the one thats down and has knocked out #4 also.
Anyway, typically with discounts at ECP they are around £11-£18 each.
OH NO.
I currently own a 1.4T SRI and the stopping power really isn't there. I was wondering how hard it would be to fit a set of VXR Brembo Calipers onto my car. I've found a set of Front Calipers on Ebay and they're reasonably priced. What else would be needed apart from the obvious of Calipers, Discs and pads?
