  Replacing door check strap
Posted by: robk999 - 4:th-Feb-2019, 10:50:20 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (5)

My driver's door makes a loud clonk when I open it and I've been told the check strap needs replacing.  Is this an easy job?  I can only find guides for other models where the door card has to come off, is that needed for the Astra?

  oil leak 1.6 petrol
Posted by: niteram - 3:rd-Feb-2019, 17:13:10 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (1)

Hi, I've got a couple of Astra J's, both 1.6 petrol
one has started a to leak a little oil - it doesn't seem to drip on the floor but the sump is wet - the drips fall onto the exhaust while driving (I love the smell of burning oil in the morning)

I've taken off the manifold heat shield and the front of block is also damp, so its not the sump gasket or the head gasket.
Is it likely to be the oil pressure switch?
Is this a known fault?

Hi all
the other day i had the DPF warning come up telling me to continue driving and i also noticed that i had a new symbol  that i had never seen before.
the new symbol turned out to be the shift up gear adviser
strange thing is ive never seen it before or after the DPF warning , should it always be there or does it just show up when theres a DPF warning?

Zafira c - Shift knob not returning
Posted by: Jaegger - 29:th-Jan-2019, 17:09:01 - Forum: Large Cars Zafira, Mokka & Antara - Replies (14)

Hello to all.

I have a 2012 Zafira C (Tourer) and started to have a problem in the shift knob.
The shift drives normally for shifting gears, but the gear does not return to its original position by itself.
Same as this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Bx6XjWofEw

Can anyone help, or already had this problem?
IS there an "easy" solution for this?

Thank you

I have installed an Hollandia 700 sunroof but at this moment in time I still have problems uploading the pictures as I wouldn't have a clue, hopefully I will get the pictures sorted within the next couple of days.

More members set to benefit from Chris Knott service

More members set to benefit from Chris Knott service...

Hi,

Insurers have relaxed their rules under our car clubs and enthusiasts offering which means we should be able to help more of you get a better car insurance deal.

We'll still be applying common sense to our quotes but there'll no longer be hard and fast minimum driver age restrictions on models. Instead we'll be assessing risks on a case by case basis - looking for relevant driver and vehicle experience.

The Chris Knott scheme via this forum rewards safer drivers and we think there are more of you on the car club and enthusiasts scene than anywhere else in the UK.

All drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 3 years and have 2 years NCB to use (gained on the quoted vehicle or another that can be mirrored across inc. company car).

We can now quote if you've had a fault claim as long as it was at least 12 months ago. Even if you have had a fault claim in the last 12 months, if the cost was under £2k we can still help.

If you can comply with these few criteria, there's a strong chance that Chris Knott will be your best option for car insurance this year.

Please put us to the test by calling 0800 917 2274 for a quote when your renewal falls due. Don't forget to mention this club/forum which will be your ticket to accessing this special car clubs and enthusiasts scheme.

Alternatively, you can complete contact details at https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/CarQuote/?ref=crit19 and we'll call you.

best,
Nick
