I was thinking that as soon as I saw them! Hahaha. They'd have to be cheap though for me to justify it as I'm skint!

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Looking good pal!
You are finally getting there! Keep it up!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks a lot! [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] I'm finally starting to feel like it's as I wanted it to be! Have a the chrome lip for the front grill ready to install and then I'm gonna see about those led bulbs and then I'm giving it a break for a bit as I'm skint as I say lol.

Was looking at these from eBay:

They look okay or am I better going for some better quality ones?

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
I'm shocked I had list out the steps for a Vauxhall dealer on how to do the fogs.

But glad you got there in the end mate.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah me too! And if you hadn't have been available to do it I'd have been sat here with a full wasted day and no fog lights!

Yeah I'm glad too dude! [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
I've got these in my K bit more expensive but are very good quality and light is really good

They looks awesome! Would have gone for them but rusty already suggested some to me last night so I picked those up [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] thanks anyway mate

You e done a great job so far mate, keep it up! What's next on your list then?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking lovely pal!!
Thanks guys! Nothing new on there but wanted all info in one thread... I'll update that master list and either move to the first page or just state which page it's on from the main page.

Next on list is to actually install the chrome grill trim as I couldn't figure out how to get the old one off! Ha.

Then try the new shark fin I have coming. Then the footwell lighting which I have wired up in the house but need to install.

Have rear door card leds ready to install when I cba too and some new fog bulbs coming which are white instead of yellow... Then nothing else on the cards! Well not yet [WINKING FACE]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Just done the footwell lights:

Went via the roof lighting rather than behind the glove box for the power [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Excellent, well done mate! The white looks really good!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cheers mate! I didn't want anything fancy... I literally just wanted a way to see the footwell when it's dark... And this does the job very well and also looks cool [WINKING FACE]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Looks good mate I'm thinking going white too lol.

What the wire dangling in the 1st pic?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haha you can't make your mind up can you!!! And that's my pedal box mate Smile I have it hooked over the steering column for easy access Smile
Haha I'm board of red and blue now lol

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Think I'd end up with a headache from the clashing red and blue tbh even if it does look good lol.

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Wondering if @rusty2009 or anyone else has any tips for getting the lower front grill off? (preferably without removing the bumper but I'm not sure if that's possible). I had the bumper off once and the lower grill refused to budget!

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Bumper off mate as it all clips in from behind.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah just couldn't see the clips at all and it seemed really firm! Is there anything to look out for?

Got some of these door latch covers coming from Alibaba:

And some of these chrome door pins coming too:

Couple of quid each rather than the £5 or so for the latch covers off eBay and the £15 for the door pins from eBay too.

Can anyone think of anything obvious that my car is missing that an Elite would have? I know I'm missing a few extras like power fold mirrors and rear electric windows etc. But as far as I'm aware they are all optional...i'm talking about stock elite things as it's an elite conversion I was going for.

Cheers Smile
compared to my one a fair few things ha
Elite badge
Hahaha yeah because yours is probably highly specced with loads of options too! I was on the VX site looking at what they offer with an elite other than OPTIONAL stuff and i can't see anything tbh

(20:th-Jan-2016, 21:24:14)cornishtaz Wrote: [ -> ]Elite badge

Hehe I have a pair coming thanks to Wink
Elec rear windows and power fold mirrors come standard on the elite.

I'll look at everything you've done over the weekend and let you know what else

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nooooooo!! Hahaha. I will have to do those now too [CRYING FACE]. I chose the elite trim on the VX site and neither of those options were standard though... You had to pick them and pay extra

But thank you for that too mate [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
I have a single point on the window switch wire (power and ground) that I have spliced into twice so far to provide power for my door car LEDs. I want to do the rear door card LEDs now and wondering is it safe to splice into the same point again or can I splice into a point on the wire further down... Or is that not wise either?

These the ones from Amazon? They look awesome mate!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah Philips Diamond Vision [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] 30 quid a pair. And cheers! They honestly are pure white! Not even a hint of yellow in them. Issue is one was loose in the packet when they came so it had been clanging around... They work fine but I don't trust they haven't had their life halved haha. Amazon are sending more out but yeah these are in the car now and I'll swap the new ones over when they come tomorrow [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

They cast a great pattern like my other philips bulbs did too. Nice and white this time though! [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

You got a link they look brilliant.
Glad you like them! They look just as white in person too [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Have gone and bought the anti dazzle mirror with the loom to get it working too Smile anyone know if there is any kind of official surround I can use to hide the wires or do I HAVE to go down the hiding the wire with tape/a sun strip thing?
hide the wires mate or you would need a new window to fit the surround
easy to get it working and also it is bigger than the standard one much better
you can hardly notice the wire it won't bother you to much

Cracking! Thanks for that [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] can't wait to get it fit! I ordered the following part for the wiring loom thing that goes to the mirror, do you remember if this is the correct one that you ordered:

13378813

Reason I ask is that another part number was mentioned on the other Astra forum (yanno the one haha)

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
there are a few different ones but they all have the wires you need for the mirror
(21:st-Jan-2016, 22:39:22)tucpal Wrote: [ -> ]there are a few different ones but they all have the wires you need for the mirror
Phew! Hehe cheers [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
the other wires just go to sensors and the camera but all have the mirror so you can not go wrong
That's what I like to hear! Made up I got the mirror for £25 delivered!

Well done mate, looks really good!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How is the radio quality with the shark fin and was it hard to install?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks @tonto and @alexfitton it's very good! I got one from aliba and it was rubbish and I lost all stations, I got one that tonto recommended which is identical but the wiring is more solid and it's 100 times better! Don't lost any stations and only get a bit of static when I'm in built up areas [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
Yeah mine has sort of gathered a lot of water hahaha. When I push down on it I can see water coming out of it and can see its becoming a bit loose! Very odd...

Pushed down on it to get all the water out, then I went round the whole thing with a tooth pick and some clear silicone sealant ... that should work! Ha.

Also installed my new mirror too which looks good but have no wiring loom to wire it up and test it yet!

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk
You did clean and dry roof before putting it on didn't you? I've had no bother at all

I did completely yeah... Very odd as I had the same issue with my other one... Both sides completely don't stick to the car and water just seeps in... Fingers crossed there isn't tonnes inside sloshing around! Ha

Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk

New mirror came... Not much to look at at the moment and still waiting for the wire to connect it to the roof lining loom
