Replacement discs and pads
#1

Hi,

Firstly, great forum with loads of useful info.

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my 2.0 CDTi. Eurocarparts list a few brands to choose from, one of which is Brembo. Is it worth upgrading to Brembo discs and pads with standard calipers? The price difference isn't much so I'm tempted but I don't know if braking or longevity will be improved - does anybody have any advice/experience?

Thanks in advance.

I fitted EBC dimppled and grooved all round with yellow stuff pads.

Breaking is abit better but I did it for looks over anything else.

Hi,

I’m trying to replace the rear pads on my Astra J but have hit a snag. Replacement of the front pads was nice and straightforward but the problem I’m having with the rear is that the bolt head on the mass displacement damper stud is worn and using a spanner on it is going to round it off. The studs on both sides are the same and a spanner will not grip them. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how do you get them out?!

Many thanks
