So my car is really starting to take shape internally but the outside is still lacking a bit. I tried the chrome handles and they weren't that good, struggling to find the chrome trim so think the other thing which i think will really make a difference to my car is the fog lights.

My car currently doesn't have any! Now I'd like to replace mine with pretty much any type that look better, not even too bothered about the functionality of the fog lights, just going for aesthetics here

So VX have just told me that my rear breaks are 80% worn and suggest that I get both the pads and discs changed....they said they know I won't be using them for the work so have no reason to try and rip me off so just wondering if people reckon that the discs really do need changing or is this generally not something that's required on a  car with 26k miles?

National tyres quoted me 256 quid for the whole lot of work, discs, pads and fitting.

Hi.  The good news is I have s shiny new (to me) Astra. The bad news is it came with just one key, and no "key code card" from a non-franchise dealer.  What are my options?  There are people on the web advertising a call out service, or I can of course go to my local Vauxhall dealer.  There are spare key fobs advertised on-line and my local locksmith will cut the key blade for £15, but obviously I need someone who can program it in to the immobiliser.  It would be nice if the missing key could b

The battery on my 2011 2.0 cdti J needs changing so picked one up from ecp, everywhere I have checked have said it's a 100 type battery it needs, but the one from ECP is too short and doesn't fit in the tray fully. Looking at the dimensions online it is 278x17x17cm, but the one in the car at the minute is 310x17x17cm and has a 108 printed on the top. Hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. The sun visor flaps on my Astra J have snapped off and so the lights on the visors no longer come on. I have ordered a complete pair of visors off eBay already but need help with swapping the old ones for the replacements if possible.

I have read the how to on removing the visors on the forum, is it just a simple case of following this again once the new visors come in the post?

Another though, is it possible to just swap

Firstly, great forum with loads of useful info.

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my 2.0 CDTi. Eurocarparts list a few brands to choose from, one of which is Brembo. Is it worth upgrading to Brembo discs and pads with standard calipers? The price difference isn't much so I'm tempted but I don't know if braking or longevity will be improved - does anybody have any advice/experience?

Hi Iv got a 2014 Astra GTC Auto, I’m after some advice, Iv spoken to Vauxhall themselves and they want £300 for a replacement gear knob.

The rubber on my gear knob has worn and split, also in the recent snow my car got stuck and while flicking from reverse to drive to rock the car out of a ditch the button on the back of the gear knob has snapped.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for a more reasonable price, and how to fit the replacement.
