So I need to get some plastic trim tools before I can do anything haha! Looks like I will be doing this next weekend now :(
10:th-May-2015, 11:55:55
Awwwww no! I forgot to mention that but would have thought you'd have known to get those with looking at my tutorial..
10:th-May-2015, 12:02:02
Yeah I thought I had something thought would suffice but nope lol, just ordered some so will have to wait
10:th-May-2015, 12:02:40
Good stuff well fingers crossed the weather will be good next week! Ha
10:th-May-2015, 12:04:54
Haha yeah I hope so!
Also my power wire looks like this... Apparently if I have a canbus problem I add yellow wire to reverse light as well as red... Anyone seen this before?
10:th-May-2015, 12:07:03
That's a weird looking cable! Ha. You won't have canbus issues... What happened to the standard black and red cable? Lol
10:th-May-2015, 12:10:30
So there's only two wires total then or are there three?
10:th-May-2015, 12:12:41
There is three, red, black and yellow. Red is live, black is ground and the yellow is if I have a canbus problem I also splice that with red wire to reverse light wire.. 'Head boggled'
10:th-May-2015, 12:13:54
Yeah that's all fine dude just never heard of using a third wire to fix canbus issues. You shouldn't have any anyway, tucpal and I both have the same kit and we were fine
10:th-May-2015, 12:14:58
There we go haha
10:th-May-2015, 12:15:41
also it will still be a good idea to drill the holes and get the sensors in place
10:th-May-2015, 12:16:59
I'm just going to wait mate as I'm going out shortly! Next weekend as long as baby doesn't arrive I will have 2 full days to concentrate on it!
10:th-May-2015, 12:17:15
Well he won't be able to get the bumper off without the trim removal tools dude
and you can also use a kitchen knife as a trim tool just wrap some insulation tape around it
so it does not scratch you paint work
10:th-May-2015, 12:18:49
Oh I never thought of that.....
Also getting the screws off behind rear wheels.. Did you guys take wheels off? Looks rather tight
Nooo I didn't take them off dude...what I did have to do was take the screw bit off the screwdriver and then turn it using a pair of pliers...it hard to explain but hope you know what I mean. It was because I couldn't get a screwdriver into the bottom screw on each side
Like so:
10:th-May-2015, 13:29:04
Ah yeah I got what you meant haha, that's actually what I thought about doing too
10:th-May-2015, 13:49:21
The other two you'll be able to get too just fine with a stubby screwdriver
10:th-May-2015, 13:52:36
Ok thanks bro, had a little tester at splicing and it's dead easy to do lol!
10:th-May-2015, 13:56:31
Ha I bet mate, best to ask for little tips from people who have done things, if I had to take wheels off I prove would have taken it to someone else to do
10:th-May-2015, 13:57:14
Yeah I was gonna do the same dude.... Couldn't be doing with messing around taking them off as I don't trust myself atm lol.
10:th-May-2015, 14:13:39
Haha I've never had to remove a wheel so be too wary to do it alone lol!
10:th-May-2015, 15:25:56
Yeah me neither and don't plan on doing it any time soon haha
14:th-May-2015, 18:58:24
Any tips on how to feed wire from boot lid to fuse box area?? I have been trying for ages now :(
14:th-May-2015, 19:02:26
Have you got a old metal coat hanger or a wire pulley?

Ok I got something similar to wire coat hanger
14:th-May-2015, 20:06:40
Use that as then tape the wire and pull through.

Done mate that's it for tonight, Saturday morning I am taking bumper off and running sensors up to box and then it's done
I plugged sensors in to check all worked so halfway there now lol! My patience has been tested though
14:th-May-2015, 20:46:43
Thanks mate, I got finished early today so thought I'd get wiring done since trim tools were delivered yesterday was a pain in the ass till Rusty said about wire coat hanger ;p
14:th-May-2015, 21:21:46
Sorry I didn't reply mate! Didn't see you had posted, tbh I thought that was the easy bit! Just pushed the wire down until it appeared in the cubby hole. The hard bit for me was getting the wire through the little rubber tube! Took me like an hour that haha
14:th-May-2015, 21:23:03
Haha nah the rubber tube was easy enough, my forearms wouldn't go far enough up fuse box bit so I couldn't get wire lol! Got it straight away with a piece of wire though
14:th-May-2015, 21:24:03
Smoooooth! Hehe, you must be pumped then if you couldn't get your arm up there! Haha. My arms are like coat hanger wires so I had no issues haha
14:th-May-2015, 21:24:57
Lmfao! I even had the wife out and she couldn't get it, don't think she could get close enough with her baby belly
14:th-May-2015, 21:27:20
Hahaha can't believe you got your pregnant wife out doing work on the car! My Mrs refuses now... Think she'd throw something at me if I asked her to do work on the car when she's pregnant! Lol
14:th-May-2015, 21:28:11
Haha wet gotta try everything ;p she got sick pretty quick to be fair! Even huffed and puffed when I got to her check sensors worked lol!
14:th-May-2015, 21:29:00
Hahaha was this before or after you had her under the car changing the oil? lol
14:th-May-2015, 21:32:56
Lmfao, she'd kick my ass if I tried to get her to do anything like that she's 'nesting' atm so I just let her get on with stuff.. Like painting the fricking bathroom... Lol
Lol you lads need to get you wife's in order lol, mine helps when ever I ask and at times even offers to help.
I make her change her own wheels, if she want to drive a car she needs to know how to do these things. But I would do it if she had a bun in the oven. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Astra-J 2.0 CDTI S/S

Any ideas without removing wheel (I'm not confident enough to) how to et this off, screw driver just spinning
If it's spinning sounds like your using the wrong bit or the head is f***ed
Try some pilers on it mate. Astra-J 2.0 CDTI S/S
