ASTRA J 1.4 PETROL ( NON TURBO )

Hi all I have a 2010 Astra j 1.4 petrol ( non turbo ) which has just started playing up. Whilst driving warning lights come on the dash as can be seen in the first image, the speedo and the odometer stop working. This will then clear then start again. Then sometimes the power steering stops working and the lights on the dash are as in image 2. This can then clear and the cycle repeats itself. This is happening more frequently but does not happen all the time :s. Through googling this the only thing I can find is suggesting that it could be the alternator. I have plugged in a power socket digital meter and whilst driving it's showing anything from13.8 to 14.9 ( it fluctuates ) Is this normal ? should it show a constant voltage ? It's my thinking that its a loose wire or connection but I can't seem to find anything. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated before I bite the bullet and take it to the dealer to be ripped off. Thank you in advance

U codes are lost comms error codes and are normally ignored unless there is an accompanying fault code with it.

U0121-00 Lost Communication With Electronic Brake Control Module

U0140-00 Lost Communication With Body Control Module This would explain your missing mileage.

The code 68 is a service power steering.

What I would suggest you do is pull the negative off the battery for 30-60mins let all systems fully shut down then unplug all connections on the BCM and re-plug them in and reconnect the battery, once you've done that see what happens over a week or so.
