Leather Seat Types Elite

Are all leather seats from elites heated with electric lumbar control? Basically i was going to buy some from someone on Gumtree and he said they were all electric and couldn't be controlled manually and were heated too. I ended up with some on eBay thought but the guy on there didn't know if they were heated or not and also said that they could be controlled manually and electronically (the movement that is) so just wondering if both sets were actually the same but each person didn't know everything about them...

Just wondering if they are all the same and if the ones I have bought will have the electric controls and the heating functions too and if it does indeed have manual controls?

Oh wow! I didn't realise that's what it was to be honest! But should be ideal for my long journeys and bad back...assuming the garage can wire it all up otherwise I'm buggered :(

The garage may need to access the Pinouts so make sure they have access to TIS2000 or Global TIS.

get a picture of the main connector under the seat
when the seats are out the car
not the one attached to the seat
the one that is on the car body

but some people have said this has just worked
and some have had to add the wires

cars after 2012 only have electric lumber on the drivers seat
pre 2012 passenger and drivers seat have it

Will check with him again, but he didn't seem phased by it as I say. What does the pin out allow them to do?

And tucpal I'm not taking the seats out prior to taking it to the garage, trying to take it in on Saturday and it's always dark before I get home so I won't have chance to do anything with it prior to taking it in...I'm getting worried that the garage won't actually know what they need to do now based on what you guys are telling me to ask the garage...they specialise in this sort of thing though and said they regularly install heated seats in all sorts of cars

And my car is a 2013 one so looks like the mrs isn't getting back support Wink ha

Having the Pin outs allows them to check what wiring is there and if any needs adding where it should go.

Most places that fit heated seats don't actually retrofit factory fitted items they fit after market parts.

You want a full factory fitted system including control panel, so it's far more complicated than just fitting an aftermarket heater pad that runs off non factory switches etc.

trust me I retro fitted AFL (which I kept getting told was impossible so I'm the only that knows how to do that).

I'm with you...well it can be done and tucpal is and his tutorial are proof of that! Ha...Just hoping that this garage knows what he's doing! So I just need to make sure he has access to the pin outs then and that's it I guess..? I'm quite worried about this now haha.

Pleeeaasee could you get me the info :P hehe. I don't want to get the car there on one of my few free days and then find out they don't have the pin info. Basically want to leave them with as much info as possible so they don't cowboy the job! Ha

Thanks mate! Would be a massive help Smile I won't copy it anywhere else at all, just for mine and the garages reference.

Info has posted as promised there is one pin-out I couldn't get without going on-line at a cost of £10 and that's the one for the the heater control panel (A20).

You can find it here
http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-Heat...Schematics

Take note that ALL THE "K29" connections will be on the seat already & "K33" IS behind the DASH.

Also you might want to look at the Heated Seats Description and Operation thread which can be found here
