Hi,
My car is a month old now but 4 times now started car & the bloody things rolled of on its own,has anyone else had this problem or am I a total idiot, It's got one of those horrible button handbrakes if you can call it that ! According to the dealer they cant fault it.

Not had that issue with any of epbs I've had the Astra's I have owned. Only thing I have noticed is if you literally just flick the switch it doesn't always work so I tend to just hold it up for a second and it works every time then.

Hi John,
Tried it today if i lift up the clutch & touch the throttle it drops of,i think it assumes i'm in gear about to move of,I don't think i touched the throttle the last few times it's done this,As to putting it on i have noticed like you it has to be held for a few seconds before it shows it's on in the dash display.

you are pulling it up two times and not just once
two pulls gives you full handbrake when parked

I'm on my 3rd Astra with EPB snd never had any issues.
Your right though if you lift the clutch and touch the throttle this will allow the EPB to release.

Hi
I think when the clutch is depressed and the accelerator pedal is slightly pressed and you are on an incline the epb will come off , thinking you are doing a hill start.
Try doing the same without being on an incline and it won't release the brake .
