Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
As some of you know I've recently purchased some hids and led drls and today
I had cornishtaz do the fitting for me and I'm literally over the moon with them it's honestly night and day compared to the standards.
I've just taken a couple of pics so thought I would share them
I want to give cornishtaz a extreme big thanks for fitting them and feeding me with all the Knowledge I needed he literally the gtc god lol many thanks again mate
So i take it you all know about the top gear scandal
and i am i avid fan of the show from the start but i was shocked today to find MR Clarkson
who i always assumed would have some sort of top of the range JAG or ASTON MARIN
NO NO NO he has a Renault Meagan RS 265 SPORT
i thought was getting old but just shows once a boy racer always a boy racer till the end
I filled the car up with diesel and drove to my friends house to do the oil change. After that we attempted the fuel filter by turning the drain screw. However, the diesel just kept on coming out and at just over 2 litres was lost we tightened it back up in the hope some knows why it didn't stop?
I was of the understanding that just the fuel out of the filter housing would come out.
Can anyone please help?
This How to will Stop Rattles that Appear to be Coming from the Seat Belt or A Pillar Area.
For a while now i have a Wired Rattle that seems to come from the Passenger Side Area
Around the Seat Belt or A Pillar Area and i have not been Able to Put my Finger on were Exactly it has been Coming From
I Noticed if i Pushed Down on the Console in the Headliner This would Stop
So i came up with a Very Simple Solution that works.
The Rattle is a Vibration Rattle Due to a Foam Block in the Console in the Headliner not being as Tight a Fit as it Should
This makes the Sound Travel and makes it Hard to Pin Point were it is Coming From
So a very Simple Solution was call For and it Works.
Remove the Trim with the Two Vents from the Console in the Headliner
and inside at the Back you will see a Foam Block Simply Push a Sponge in between
the Block and the Roof this will Stop the Vibration Rattle that Travels to the Seat Belt Area.
This will also Stop Any Rattles you may have from the Console Itself also
Some have Suggested Adding Sticky Tads to the Trim but this Works just as Good Also
a Very Simple Solution But this Really has Worked.
Been thinking of getting an Astra for quite some time, couldn't make up my mind about which shape to go for and in the end, picked up a lovely little SRI, 14 plate about a month a go and I've not looked back since.
Pics will be available soon when I can dig my camera out, just moved house.
****VERY IMPORTANT GM WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT THIS RETROFIT AND THEY WILL NOT SUPPLY A VCI
CUSTOM PROGRAMMING IS NEEDED ONLY A SELECT FEW PEOPLE CAN DO THIS****
This only covers 5-door J's.
This is not a case of swapping wires around on the headlamp plug, there are 2 reasons for this.
1. The wire gauge is different.
2. only a few wires go to the fuse board the rest go inside the car.
So the first thing you need to do is buy some wire and terminals.
I shall give you a list of wire you can choose what ever colours you want but I'll tell you mine and where I got it from in-case you want to follow this a bit better.

You also need to buy the following as I couldn't track the pins outs or the plugs.
2x 93181753 for the levelling sensors.
1x 13314092 for the AFL module connector x2.
You could use the connectors you have for the headlamp but I'd advise you go to a scrap yard and get some from a J or H or you can them new 88988927
The Terminals for these are listed above from Mouser
While you are at the scrap yard you might as well look in the H (Radio area) for the plug needed K28 X1 or you can buy it new 93187174.
The Terminals for this are here http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/6809027/
I shall list all the parts that need new wiring below, This will have a picture of the connector and then a table underneath with the wires (I will only list the wires needed).

Once you have made all the wiring changes your new AFL lights will only only work you've you requested a VCI it's not as simple as just request it for the AFL Also AFL is not a recognized retrofit and therefore it's not quite so straight forward.
All this information was gathered by myself and shown to work after successfully obtaining the VCI codes on 27th October 2014.
As with all electrical how-to's we except no responsibility for any issues that could arise all are carried out at your own risk. If the how-to is followed correctly you should have no issues.
PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTION IN THIS THREAD AS PM'S WILL BE IGNORED
(LET OTHERS KNOW THE ANSWER/S TO ANY QUESTION/S TOO)
****VERY IMPORTANT GM WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT THIS RETROFIT AND THEY WILL NOT SUPPLY A VCI****
Is there someone to tell me how can i deactivate this setting with an op-com.I have already done this from the settings (config) of the CD player of the car but this continues to be activated by accident...
A friend of mine is helping me service the car on Saturday and I have all the filters needed. I also ordered a new sump plug and seal which is a Torx head. Does anyone know if the existing sump plug is a Torx head so we know what to look for and also is there only one under engine panel that needs removing to access the sump?
So my car is really starting to take shape internally but the outside is still lacking a bit. I tried the chrome handles and they weren't that good, struggling to find the chrome trim so think the other thing which i think will really make a difference to my car is the fog lights.
My car currently doesn't have any! Now I'd like to replace mine with pretty much any type that look better, not even too bothered about the functionality of the fog lights, just going for aesthetics here .
So my question is what issues may I have here? Is there any programming involved? Am I likely going to have the loom? If not how do I check for one, not sure where it would be.
