  ASTRA J 1.4 PETROL ( NON TURBO )
Posted by: karaokeking - 2:nd-Jul-2017, 16:33:43 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (1)

Hi all I have a 2010 Astra j 1.4 petrol ( non turbo ) which has just started playing up. Whilst driving warning lights come on the dash as can be seen in the first image, the speedo and the odometer stop working. This will then clear then start again. Then sometimes the power steering stops working and the lights on the dash are as in image 2. This can then clear and the cycle repeats itself. This is happening more frequently but does not happen all the time :s. Through googling this the only thing I can find is suggesting that it could be the alternator. I have plugged in a power socket digital meter and whilst driving it's showing anything from13.8 to 14.9 ( it fluctuates ) Is this normal ? should it show a constant voltage ? It's my thinking that its a loose wire or connection but I can't seem to find anything. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated before I bite the bullet and take it to the dealer to be ripped off. Thank you in advance

  Factory Fitted Towbar
Posted by: tommyboy1289 - 1:st-Jul-2017, 06:25:23 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (4)

My J has the factory fitted removable towbar, I'm pretty sure it was done as new as when the trailer has a light out it displays on the dash.

But I get no audio/visual warning when my trailer is connected and indicators on, a blessing yes as the buzzer is annoying, but as a legal requirement I thought it should have some form of indication.

Any suggestions on whether I should have an extra buzzer/light and why it aint working?

Cheers

android 6.0 astra J system aliexpress
Posted by: Hollandastra - 30:th-Jun-2017, 08:18:00 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (13)

Hello guys!

Since some time i found out aliexpress sells some car systems for my Opel Astra J.
Since that time im thinking all the time if i should buy this system yes or no. Because i don't know the quality of the systems i still have doubts, so thats why i put some questions here.

Does any bought their system from aliexpress?
If yes, everything ok with this? Still working after some time?

I would like to buy this one:

Android 2GB ram system

Hope people can give me some advice to do it, or to leave it.
Thanks
Smile

Have you any rust on your Astra J ?
Posted by: Dennis S - 29:th-Jun-2017, 19:09:09 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (2)

As I am someone who is the wrong side of 50, I can remember the days when cars would rust quite badly at a relatively early age.
Vauxhalls these days seem to be fairly well protected from rust, but what I'd like to ask is :

Have you had any trouble with rust on your Astra ?
What are any potential problem areas ?
Has anyone had any rustproofing done on their car ?

  Hello

Hello there, thanks for letting me join your forum.
I am once again a Vauxhall owner after nearly 20 years of VWs.
My last Vauxhall was an 1986 D Cavalier which I owned around 1994/1995. Although a great car to drive, it was falling to bits with rust at only 8 years old !
After saying I would never have another Vauxhall, I've eaten my words and am now the proud owner of an Astra 2.0 CDTI Auto Tourer.
I've got to say I'm impressed with how much the quality of Vauxhalls has improved.

Fitted rear led lights, now bulb warning issues
Posted by: twinpipes - 28:th-Jun-2017, 22:18:15 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (3)

So i have bought a new GTC, it came with no led rear lens, so got the dealer to order and fit them. Now he says it throws up rear bulb light failure display on the dash. Pressing the button on the steering wheel stalk turns of the issue warnings. can live with that , but is there a way to eliminate this, a guy told me you can go into the ecu and change the settings in the codes menu.
