  Please help, strange problems.
Posted by: Richiew1986 - 12:th-Jul-2021, 21:55:16 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Technical - Replies (8)

Hi, I bought an Astra J a couple of weeks ago, since then a few problems have surfaced. It started after I removed the battery to replace the air bag and steering wheel. Code 16 came on, found that a bulb had blown so replaced that, code gone but still no brake lights. I then noticed that the brake lights would illuminate with the reverse light.

Today while driving I noticed that the brake lights are coming on but not when I press the pedal, seems to be in response to slowing down, then coming of when accelerating. maybe unrelated but my remote locking keyfob stopped working too.  I've never came across this problem before and think it's really strange, hope someone can help me shine some light on it. Really would appreciate some expertise on this, I'm going my wits end with it.

Looked on Opcom and there does seem to be some trouble codes.

U0140-71 Lost communication with Body Control Module - Invalid data

C0277-06 Brake Pedal Position sensor circuit- Low voltage/open

C0277-4B Brake Pedal Position sensor circuit- Calibration not learned

C0890-003 Control module voltage reference output 3 circuit - undervoltage

"Great staff, a big help and an excellent saving." Tony, Trustpilot

"I got mine insured through Chris Knott when I switched to my Mk4. Completely standard, no mods, they beat the best quote I could find online." alexp999, Focus ST Owners Club

"Well went with Chris Knott last year after getting a great quote. Renewal came round again so was expecting to have to move again to achieve a good price. Renewal quote came through from Chris Knott and had not gone up but stayed about the same. Found a cheaper alternate quote and they matched it without any trouble. So another year with Chris Knott. Great customer service." BMW Chaz, BimmerForums

"Excellent response and good price and cover. Thanks" Les, Trustpilot

"My family has been with Chris Knott for 20+ years. Over the past year Chris Knott's staff have been extremely helpful to me in having to change the various insurances we had following a change in my circumstances." Miss J Black, Trustpilot

  Decent Vauxhall specialists?
Posted by: SomePigeon - 12:th-Jul-2021, 14:38:52 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (2)

Hi everyone.

I have a 63plate Biturbo 5 door model which has recently developed a judder/vibration on acceleration.

After much messing around getting wheels balanced and aligned and swapping wheels around I've been advised it is likely the clutch/fly wheel.

Does anybody know of any decent independent Vauxhall specialists in the Aldershot/Hampshire area that will do this work?
(I refuse to use the local Vauxhall dealership as they are completely useless)

Thanks.

Hi All

I'd like to replace the horn in my 2016 GTC.

Can anyone please advise if there is a better way to get to the old horn and replace it other than removing the entire front bumper assembly ?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Many thanks

Ed

  1.4t EGR
Posted by: dammfust - 10:th-Jul-2021, 09:33:25 - Forum: Mechanical - No Replies

Hi,

I currently keep getting a underboost error on my 1.4t.

I am looking to clean my egr valve as the error points to that. But I can find naff all about the valve on this engine. Where is it and how can it be removed? Anyone got tips or even better a link?

Does the egr need to be deleted in the ecu if blanked on this engine?

Thanks,
Ben

  vin relearn navi 600
Posted by: geoffp - 5:th-Jul-2021, 01:58:34 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (1)

Does anyone know how I can VIN relearn my navi 600 into my insignia 2010 vx line?
Its currently got the bluetooth CD400 in it and I have grabbed a navi 600 to try and upgrade the unit.

I have VX DIAG, opcom, tech 2 and the Opel development software to send XMLs to the car via VXDIAG.
I cant seem to work out a solution.
They didnt release the navi 600 for my year 2010 it was 2011 i think, so not sure SPS'ing a calibration would work because it wont have one for my year.

Ive spent a month researching and cant figure it out.
Are you aware of anything I can use.
They apparently don't have an eeprom inside to read and write to, its stored in flash and the readers are expensive so not worth buying just for a 1 off.
Thanks for any helping tips you might be able to share.
Geoff.

Hunting on Idle and Various Error Codes
Posted by: centurionduck - 3:rd-Jul-2021, 08:59:17 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (1)

Hi all, my Astra J is hunting on idle and has various error codes being displayed. I thought the hunting might be the SCV but the fuel consumption at idle doesn't match the other posts on this issue:

Astra J Hunting

I have the SVS error message and these are the codes that were pulled:

P037E - Glow Plug Module Feedback Low Voltage
B1517 - Battery Voltage
U0164 - Lost Communication With HVAC

Then I have a list of Door, wiper, light and washer codes:

B3101 - Keyless entry data link circuit
B3109 - Keyless entry transmitter battery
B3125 (x3) - Door lock Unlock Short Circuit
B3938 - Fuel fill door actuator lock circuit
B3882 - Right tail lamp circuit open
B370B - Rear wiper control circuit open
B3873 (x2) - Washer relay circuit open and short

I am not currently having any issues opening/locking doors, using washers, wipers and lights. I'd like to get the cause of these fixed but I'm more worried about the top three and the hunting.

Can anyone offer any advice and experience on what my issues might be and where I start fixing first?

Thanks!

  Parking sensors, missing switch?
Posted by: carolef1984 - 30:th-Jun-2021, 15:16:43 - Forum: Retrofit How-to's - Replies (2)

Hi, I purchased an ex police Astra j sports tourer with parking sensors but, no switch. The noise is really annoying and without the switch, i can only deactivate it by going through the menu, and it reactivates itself anyway. It also prevents me from upgrading my stereo to an android unit as I won't be able to deactivate them at all then, I suspect.
I've seen I can purchase the switch on eBay, however I'm not sure if there is any extra wires I'd need to connect the switch to the car, I presume there are?
Does anyone know if it's possible to add the switch easily, or even possible at all. I have no idea where I'd even find the module to see if there is a switch cable there, or what it would look like?
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
