What is the recommended mileage , at which the cam belt should be changed on the 1.7 CDTi diesel. .

on a petrol its about 60.000 but diesel not too sure

Doing this from memory, but 99.99999% sure it's 100,000 miles OR 10 years, whichever comes first.

Vauxhall say 100K or every 6 years (which ever comes first) but Haynes recommends every 40K or 4 years (which ever comes first) I will do mine every 5 years right in the middle as I won't get up to that sort of mileage.

That's interesting about the 6 years. Just had a flick through our timing belt data and it still states 10 years or 100,000 miles. Some of the early to mid 2000 model years are listed as 6 years. I wonder if this is quite a recent change to the time intervals then??
