Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
My Astra will soon be needing a couple of tyres, and at 235 45 r18 size they won't be cheap.
I don't like to use cheap tyres, they are often dangerous in the wet, but on the other hand I don't much fancy paying £150 a tyre for premium tyres either.
What kind of tyres are you using and what do you think of them...?
I use nexen I find them very good in the wet and dry. Quiet too.
I have 17's and paid £60 per tyre but feel they are better than the price bracket they are in.
Big thing with tyres I find is they are personal purchase really what one person likes doesn't necessarily suit another and that goes for all tyres budget to premium.
NAVI950 , DAB+ & Rear Camera , quick heat, auto lights and rain sensor retrofit
I've also been using Nexen for the past few years and had no problems with wet or dry grip. I have the Nfera SU1 on the fronts of my 18s and HDBlue on the rear. The fronts are getting low so will be putting HDBlues on again as I feel they wear better and have more rim protection on them. For the money they are possibly one of the best mid range tyres you can buy. Looked at budgets before but just don't think I am willing to take the risk.
I don't know if they sell the brand I have in the UK.
Uniroyal - Rainsport 3.
Very good tire for Belgium/UK where sometimes we seem to have more rain days than sunny ones
I trust them in the rain. Not so very bad in snow either. Not the most quiet tyres I think and the wear is average.
Good value/quality for everyday winter/summer driving.
For driving miles and miles on a dry motorway they wear a bit faster than the bigger brands' real summer tires.
I use uniroyal rainsport 3 in Scotland...it always rains where I live, good road hold and excellent on the wet. :-) (235/50/R18) Blackcircles on line do some good deals. :-)

Exactly. I'm always a bit affraid of aquaplaning, but not with these Uniroyal Rainsport tires.
They don't last crazy long, but very pleased with the grip they have.
I've been using Nexen(Roadstone) N8000s (225 50R 17) for around 5k km(fitted by official dealer), I'd say for half of the price of ContiPremiumContact 6s they have amazing value per euro. They're much more quieter and sticks to road better than factory stock EcoContact 5s.
