GTC or 5-door?

5-door we don't condone the use of HID's as they are halogen headlight. unless of course you fit projectors then you can install HIDS.

This is true, gtc have projectors which are fine but other cars have what are called reflectors which cause massive problems such as blinding the other drivers and it just doesnt work BUT you can get reflector bulbs which are hids but i cant comment on how good they are. Also you need to check if your headlight unit can take hids as they release more uv so can screw the material up so you wont fail an mot but technically arnt safe on the road due to tests they dont do on the mot but make the car safe

I looked into this recently too and came to the conclusion they're not worth the risk unless you intend to replace the whole light unit. I just put some Philips Racing Vision bulbs in instead.

They do suit the GTC and I'd love some in my Tourer but I just cant justify the expense of replacing the headlight units.

True dude, for the gtc for a replacement stock bulb its £45 so i thought £70 for hids isnt that bad as im gonna have to replace bulbs in the life of the car and a hid bulb is £7 so its really to save money :P i told the girlfriend that and she agreed :P hehehe
