Best Dashcam and easy to install
#1
Hi Guys
I would like to buy the Dash cam, but i very rarely used the car on weekdays and sometimes at weekend. So if i dont use the car as often, would it drain my car battery ?

I can not always park outside my house, so this is the disadvantage.

My car has been hit and run 3 times already and paid repairs of over £6,000 within 3 years and had to claim through my insurance.

Would this camera be good for me, even though i dont ride the car too much, as i used my bike a lot than the car, as i am just worried about the car battery being drained.

I dont want to buy something, where it depends on the car battery and it will just drain the car battery due to car does not get moved for days or sometime weeks.

If i do drive the car it will be 2 miles journey to work and back ,so total 4 miles, this is if i have to pick the Mrs up from Shopping due load of bags.

My car would get used at weekend , if the Mrs want to go out somewhere like 30-40 miles trip.

I was thinking of the below or you guys have used something may be cheaper Dashcam and being cost effective. This can be hard wired or plug into cigarette lighter. Fixed wiring i may have to get it done by a professional or if it straight forward, then i may be able to do it myself.

Well TBH looking at the links that black magic will only run for 20-24hrs on a charge or 12hrs at that point you would then need to run the car to re-charge the units.

I have fitted Mini 0805P into mine and mine wife's car they came with a hardwired kit which has parking mode, my car can be left 2-3weeks at times and the battery has not drained the kits have a battery protection in them so once it gets to set voltage from the battery it shut down.

Although it's worth noting that the parking mode will only turn the camera on after the car has be hit (if the camera detects the shock) so by that point whatever/whoever has damaged your car may be gone.

Hi Rusty2009,
I Appreciated your reply and advice.

So the Dashcam wont be effective, if i had it on the parking mode, the crash scene will not be recorded and the person can dissapear and No reg number will be recorded.

Dash cam will only be effective if you are driving the car, which will record the accident, as it will be live recording , but the stationery vehicle may not record the hit and run, as the person may have already fled, if he is not willing to stop to give details

The brand you bought is mini 0805P and has the parking Mode. I already have the parking Sensor built into my car front and back, does it not have any effect on the parking sensors.

If i did buy the Mini 0805p are they easy to hard wire for DIY person like myself or shall i stick it on the Cigarette lighter.

Many thanks for your reply

In a sense yes mate there are many different settings for the parking mode tho, I've got the shock set that high that just closing the door it wakes up (and it's quite fast).

No it has no effect on parking sensors.

It really is quite easy mate I've wired into the fuse-board (added a wire to the back) running a 2amp fuse (didn't have any 1amp) this gives is it constant power for parking mode. then I tapped into the 12v wiring as this is ignition controlled for normal running and ground can be found on the bar behind the glove-box.

Does the mini 0805P dashcam has the free Over the Cloud add-on service, so you can check on your car from anywhere, anytime.
While parked, it also detects movements, not just the shock movement, like it has on the Blackvue.

So you can Connect to your mini 0805P anytime, from anywhere in the world with mini 0805P over the Cloud.
So you can Enjoy remote Live View and Push Notifications to your phone.
So you can Back up important videos to the free Cloud storage.

Play and download videos from your dashcam’s memory or the Cloud from anywhere.

Enjoy Two-way Voice Communication with the driver from the app through the mini 0805P integrated speaker and mic.

Does the mini 0805P has the Parking Mode Event Voice Notifications: upon exiting Parking Mode, it tells you if Events were recorded when you were away from your car, so you can check right away the Event videos on the mini 0805P App.

There are 3 fuse boxes, so I will be using the fuse connection from the engine compartment fuse, as there 3 fuse location in this car, Engine, passenger compartment or is it under the driver side and boot rear area on the side.

I just got this information from Blackvue, as my friend he had this WiFi and when someone hit his car by his fist it alerted him on his mobile and he caught the offender by neighbour cctv,as he knew it was 11pm.

No it doesn't have over the cloud I did look into them but TBH my car is in my garage most of the time.

I did it to the glove-box fuse board.

No it doesn't have that.
