water in rear

Not sure how you start a new topic so sorry in advance. Been hoovering out all the white dog hairs in the back of my car (previous owner) and I've found a damp patch under the back seats. Wondering what it could be?

Here's the wet area

The boot is bone dry so are the rear seats. The rear quarter glass seems fine too. The material that's wet is like a sponge so I suppose it could hold water for quite a while from a spill by previous owner. Think it's been on edens forecourt for a few months so seems unlikely.

It's was just wet in this area I've wiped it all now.

What's the black circle thing?

Could it be coming up through there maybe. Going to take it all out tonight, let the sponge dry. See what happens.
