this is for the NAV500 and 600 that have the FM already in Place
And the Shark Fin on the Roof for the Sat Nav
But do not Have DAB.
If you have the CD400 go to the CD400 DAB how to.
So if you have the NAV500 or 600
And you have the Tabs in Place on the Rear window
then you will find the one for the DAB is a Dummy
just put there in Place to make it Look nice.
Remove the Trim from the Tail Gate
you will see all the Receivers are There for the FM
So you only need the DAB Receiver (ZA)
And a 1 Meter fakra Z Cable
Going from the Receiver (ZA) to the Double Female Connector
In the Roof Right hand side just under the Headliner
just follow the Cable from the Shark fin to find the Connector you need
it will have one coming from the Shark fin for SAT NAV
and an Empty Slot that you need for the DAB.
Thread the Fakra Z Cable 1 Meter Female too Male
From the Receiver Through the Tail Gate
to the Right hand side off the Headliner.
See the Blue Plastic on the End of the Male Connector Pictured above
you now have to Remove the Blue Plastic Case and just Leave to Metal Pin
so Gently cut the Blue bit away Leaving the Metal Pin inside and in tacked
it is the Metal Pin that will Connect to the Double Female end in the Roof
i do not have a Picture of the Connector Striped or of the one in the Roof
so if any one can send me one it would help others.
You now need to get the DAB Module and Connect it up to the Exiting
Connectors in the front Foot Well just above the Accelerator Peddle
you are looking for the Black and Green Connectors there.
The Module is held in Place by a Bracket
That you must also get and one Screw
once you have that all in Place
you are now Ready for Programming and VCI Activation
You will have DAB Radio
DAB Module Part Numbers are for the (Astra J 13319590 UBT)
and for the (Astra J GTC 13362385 UBT.)
the Cradle for the DAB unit is (GM 13263525).
AS WITH ALL ELECTRICAL HOW TOO,S.
you do this at your own risk if you follow the how to correctly
there should be no problems thank you.
Re the male fakra end that fits in the roof connection, the plastic does not need to be cut as there is a small plastic insert each side that can be dug out with a jewellers screwdriver or some thing similar. Hope this helps, Best Regards, kipper
Hi tucpal, sorry I don't have a picture but if you look closely at yours you will see a purple thing, if you dig that out & the small oblong piece on another side the plastic sleeve will slide off, as they are like staples that locate in a groove on the pin. Hope this helps, Best regards, kipper
Right I've ordered a Fakra Z, just to find a 590 DAB module now.. after that I'll just need to get it Tech 2'd if I've read it right?
I think I'll double check I have the two plugs in the footwell before I buy a DAB module, I've already got a factory CD500 Navi with bluetooth/voice activation but after seeing a few havent had the plugs I think it's worth checking first.
Hi new to the forum got my Astra J last weekend, looking at putting DAB in just wondered if someone could clarify how the Programming and VCI Activation is done?

Ok so first thing is get a VCAP file from the car and that gets sent off to GM they then supply a VCI code which then has to be entered.
The person that does it will need the car to request the VCI. It can take 1hr-48hrs to get the VCI code back.

Be warned GM are charging to supply VCI codes.

Cool! I have NAVI600 which would be suitable I guess. I have these "wiring" on my side-back windows (Astra J GTC) which I thought was voor heating or so haha. So they are there for DAB?
If I retrieve a VCI code then all can de done myself (includes programming)?
Found a secondhand DAB module for around 39 euros, just need to ask how much for shipping to Netherlands.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for quoting, can't seem to get it right with normal reply :(

You would need to add the DAB aerial parts too.
Ok so a VCI & Programming needs to be done by someone with Access to SPS and an MDI.
I have a NAV600 (well, upgraded to 900).
On my rear side windows looks like antenna's (left and right small windows) window.....but don't see an adapter og cable going there, or I need to dismantle something before I see that? Already have the DAB module coming my way, so very new to this and the stuff I need...........even after reading many here.........think also got to do with not being my native language LOL.
Not sure quite what you have need I've not done a GTC yet.
This isn't already somewhere in the car then? And how about the aerial, is it in my small rear back windows? I thought so, looked like heating for windows LOL. But son't see cable on it?

on your right side window there are actually two separate tracks, each has it's own amplifier
the connections to the windows are behind the trim panel, the larger right window track amplifier is also connected to the left window amplier, the smaller (rear) right hand track is for DAB. Probably lol
All the above is GTC specific, not sure if other models are the same

Thanks!
Is the trim panel easy to remove? (before I rip it apart ;-) )
