Am I the only poor sod who has no wiring for the light in the boot? I have the bulb casing and bulb but there is no wiring for it.

Are you sure the wiring hasn't just dropped down behind the panel in the boot?
I suspect at some point in its past life a dealer disconnected the boot light so he could leave it open all day (as they tend to do on the forecourt) not realising that after approx. 5 mins it turns itself off anyway to protect the battery from being drained.

Thanks. Yeah it doesn't make sense that there would be no wiring for bulb assuming it would have been checked during the PDI. I've had a good root around as much as I could behind the carpet panel without actually removing the side carpet panel. (Not sure how it all comes out etc.) I can't find any wires hanging around apart from 3 vacant connectors which are connected to the wiring loom next to the fuse box. None of the 3 appear to fit the connector for the bulb holder so suspect they are there for options which I don't have or alternatively for diagnostic equipment. I'll upload some photos of them. It would be great if someone could tell me where the wiring from the bulb comes from.
Some photos of the vacant connectors.

Haha. I've only had the car 2.5 years......
Don't really tend to open the boot when it's dark so it wasn't a big thing for me. Originally I thought it just didn't have a boot light so assumed it was a typical Vauxhall oversight. It's only when I saw the thread about adding a 2nd boot light that I decided to see if I did in fact have a boot light. I did find it but assumed the bulb was blown as it didn't work. Only when I removed the bulb holder did I spot that the wiring/connector was missing.....
Just saw Sheppys photos again of him fitting the oversized bulb holder. Specifically the bit where he cut away the carpet to make room for the bigger bulb holder. I can see where the wiring comes from................. I have a cunning plan.
HA. Success!! I cut away some of carpet making the hole bigger. Managed to find the connector which was jammed between two bits of trim. Wiggled it free and connected the bulb. Not sure how the connector was out of place but probably related to the guys who fitted the aftermarket parking sensors. Thanks Big Dave..
