#1
Here I have for sale a coolant tank from my Astra J which had done around 23k miles before it was removed.

Make an offer for the part Smile

Why would you need to change your coolant tank?

I changed mine for one with a sensor on it so that it would tell me when the coolant is low. Unfortunately I then found out that I don't have the wiring I'm place between the tank and the IPC lol

Oh right. Ha. Mines saying low coolant. I've checked and it seems fine. It's not full but it ain't low. Had the car 6 weeks and it supposedly had a service when I bought it so should be fine. I've read that it's a common fault with the censor.

Yeah I read that too but never really read into what causes it. Should he an easy fix tbh, even if you have to replace the sensor...they're only like a tenner or something and easy to replace. I'm sure others on here will know how you can check it for faults and potentially sort it without replacing though Smile.

Which model car do you have anyway out of interest?

My aircon smells like sick too. Lovely. I've bought the dettol antibacterial spray to kill the bacteria but with the car being in warranty do you reckon they'd sort it. Maybe get a new condenser or would they just spray it?

Not got any coolant. Was going to buy some but it only needs a little top up so I've just added a little water. The tank is full now. So I'll keep an eye on it.

Definitely got a leak. It's gone down since filling it up and you can see the leak now

Looks that way. Reckon that clamp is not tight enough or the hose has a split.

I'd messed around with it myself but I'd assume all the coolant would need to be drained

And yes. Balls indeed. Ha.

Took the car back to dealer. They've said the expansion tank needs replacing and it's not covered by the warranty! So they want £90

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should it be covered?

Holy crap! Expansion tank is only 20 quid and is easy to fit! Also which dealer is it? They replaced mine under warranty when it was leaking and it wasn't even the original part!

Hey guys,

I have the same problem.
Mine is a bit foggy inside - Does that mean anything? (I've added a photo below of what it looks like).
Anyhow, I was thinking of replacing it with a new one (Cause I've already changed the pump a while ago).

Couldn't find it anywhere online - Any Ideas please?!

I drive a petrol Astra J 1.4 (140hp).

Thanks in advance,
