Here I have for sale a coolant tank from my Astra J which had done around 23k miles before it was removed.

Make an offer for the part Smile

Why would you need to change your coolant tank?

I changed mine for one with a sensor on it so that it would tell me when the coolant is low. Unfortunately I then found out that I don't have the wiring I'm place between the tank and the IPC lol
Oh right. Ha. Mines saying low coolant. I've checked and it seems fine. It's not full but it ain't low. Had the car 6 weeks and it supposedly had a service when I bought it so should be fine. I've read that it's a common fault with the censor.

Yeah I read that too but never really read into what causes it. Should he an easy fix tbh, even if you have to replace the sensor...they're only like a tenner or something and easy to replace. I'm sure others on here will know how you can check it for faults and potentially sort it without replacing though Smile.

Which model car do you have anyway out of interest?
Misses drives the car more than me and she's noticed it. Doesn't come up when I drive it. 1.6t Sri 2010

its a common fault they will fix it if you take it back they replace the cooling tank and sensor
My aircon smells like sick too. Lovely. I've bought the dettol antibacterial spray to kill the bacteria but with the car being in warranty do you reckon they'd sort it. Maybe get a new condenser or would they just spray it?

new pollen filter sounds like a good idea

Think I'm loosing coolant. Is it ok to top it up with water to see if it is going down

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
a mix really of coolant and water a top up wont hurt at all
Not got any coolant. Was going to buy some but it only needs a little top up so I've just added a little water. The tank is full now. So I'll keep an eye on it.

Definitely got a leak. It's gone down since filling it up and you can see the leak now

Balls! :( reckon it's just not sealed well enough?
Looks that way. Reckon that clamp is not tight enough or the hose has a split.

I'd messed around with it myself but I'd assume all the coolant would need to be drained

And yes. Balls indeed. Ha.

you may as well replace the hose
Took the car back to dealer. They've said the expansion tank needs replacing and it's not covered by the warranty! So they want £90

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should it be covered?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Holy crap! Expansion tank is only 20 quid and is easy to fit! Also which dealer is it? They replaced mine under warranty when it was leaking and it wasn't even the original part!
Yours was from new though so would that make a difference? Seems harsh to me! It's Vauxhall mate.

So this is all I need then

Where do you get the clips from to clip the hoses on?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Apparently it's only covered if its mechanical

Had a moan and it's getting done now as a 'gesture of good will' how kind.....

Hey guys,

I have the same problem.
Mine is a bit foggy inside - Does that mean anything? (I've added a photo below of what it looks like).
Anyhow, I was thinking of replacing it with a new one (Cause I've already changed the pump a while ago).

Couldn't find it anywhere online - Any Ideas please?!

I drive a petrol Astra J 1.4 (140hp).

Thanks in advance,
