How-to disassemble airbag

I decided to make this how-to in case someone wants to change steering wheel badge or replace it with a new one if damaged. You don't have to buy a new airbag, you just need to replace the front plastic cover. Swapped covers a month ago and it is a pretty easy job. The hardest part is to source the plastic cover.

Ok, first remove airbag. For removing airbag see here: https://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/Thread-How...el-Buttons

Once you remove airbag, place it gently with the badge side down (careful not to scratch it).

The airbag is consisted of 2 pieces: the main body which contains airbag and the plastic cover with the badge on it.

Around the main body you will see 13 clips that hold the cover in place. You have to pry all of them in order to remove the cover. A great idea is to use an old plastic card cut into pieces and place them between the main body and the plastic cover. The clips are tight so use some force to place the card pieces between the body and the cover.

Now flip it over and pull the cover upwards to separate it from the body. The airbag will be revealed...

Horrifying, isn't it? DONT touch the actual airbag, just fit the new cover until all clips are secure..
