Hmmmm I don't think it would mate due to the angle of the one I have. I know away you mean now about the valance, I almost bought the one from the vx line but the guy wanted too much

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 3:rd-Apr-2016

I bought one anyway, the 20 quid ones stated they were the 6.5mm diameter ones which is what I wanted but they had a 9 quid one which was the same but didn't state the diameter... I've taken the risk and got one, fingers crossed it's the correct size! Ha

Why would you downgrade? Your black masks look so much better especially on your colour car!

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 5:th-Apr-2016

I think they blend in too much and look dull... The ones i really want are the face-lift chrome ones but I can get the above ones cheap... I think they would look better myself... But if not then I'd sell them on [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Yeah they're nice those! Well... I found the ones I wanted... A guy on the FB page just sold them to me with the resistors and leds for the DRLs...

They are very similar, those ones don't have the screen covering the none projector bulb, the ones I put up are now sold out on eBay, you can get them in black though...

This is the seller of the headlights that I shown in my post, send him a message through eBay if you like and ask if he will be getting more of the chrome ones back in stock...

Yep those are the ones

Replaced the heated seat connector and still have the issue! On top of that I don't trust the wiring job I did so I'm booking in with an auto electrician to tidy it up lol... Wasted a bunch of money and no better off

On the plus side... Every mechanic I've ever rang or been too have been rude and cocky... Rang this auto electrician and he's really polite, open 9am till 8pm 7 days a week, was helpful and also not expensive! Let's see if he's good at his job when I get booked in [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 7:th-Apr-2016

Are you going to sell your old ones? I assuming they are the same as the SRI?

Is the plug the same as the preface lights?

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 7:th-Apr-2016

I am going to sell them yes, as of now @nemo is having them if they work with his car... His are the same as mine (black ones from the sri as you say) but he has factory halogens for DRLs (or did till he retrofitted leds).

Tbh we have no idea if mine will work in his car of if the ones I bought will work in my car! Ha. As for the connector... I'm not sure mate

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 7:th-Apr-2016

Connector is the same and @nemo they will give errors may need some programming via VCI there was someone who fitted factory LED DRL and they caught fire.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 8:th-Apr-2016

Hahahaha what the hell @Rusty2009!! So do you think I'll see the same issue with the halogen ones in mine?

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Nemo - 8:th-Apr-2016

Who was it that who had there's set on fire? And is there anyway of checking it needs programming beforehand? @rusty2009

You may well get errors but if the loads are on you maybe fine (no one's ever gone from Factory LED DRL/Sidelights to halogen).

(8:th-Apr-2016, 09:20:24)Nemo Wrote: Who was it that who had there's set on fire? And is there anyway of checking it needs programming beforehand? @rusty2009

I got told by Andy that he fitted them on customer request on way home they caught fire @tucpal knows about it too.

I can tell you now you will get errors fitting them, if you do buy them & you fancy a couple of road trips I'll request a VCI for you at cost which will work out @ £25 (of course GM could say no).

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Nemo - 8:th-Apr-2016

Who was it that bought the aftermarket ones? I'm sure they worked fine didn't they? He went halogen to LED and projector if I'm not wrong?
You're 5 hours away @rusty2009 haha

Also how did you get your AFL to work? Surely you had halogen before? Or did you have LED?

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 8:th-Apr-2016

@tucpal made projector & LED DRL headlamps from my old halogen headlights using load resistors which Lewis now has. And Jordan brought some aftermarket projectors with LED DRL (but they would have still been like the halogen lamps).

The offer is there.

I had all halogen lamps I had to make loads of wiring changes fit loads of new parts and then request a VCI code which gave me access to the software calibration files needed.

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 8:th-Apr-2016

Anyone know if the heated seat module from am American GMC car will work with the Astra? They look the same and have the same part number and are made by GM obviously

Placement of these resistors look okay? Worried they may Hest up too much and damage the paint on the bonnet!

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - mrtc - 9:th-Apr-2016

couldnt you stick some kind of heat proof lining on the inside of the bonnet to stop any issues

Ta mate. I took mine out and left the led bulbs in without resistors. Here's some pics of the job the guy did!

Wasn't safe at all! No errors without the resistors

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 9:th-Apr-2016

Jesus that's horrendous!

Thinking about it, you won't get errors as your car is programmed for LEDs in the first place

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 9:th-Apr-2016

Yeah that's what Russell said too [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] guessing they won't draw any more power either so shouldn't cause issues. The led bulbs are fine anyway and I even bought some super bright halogen ones from halfords too just in case

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 9:th-Apr-2016

That's it. Your car will be used to a lower power pull from your old drl lights so you'll be all good.

Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 9:th-Apr-2016

Whooop! Well all sorted... [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] next up to see if my old ones work in @nemo car!

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Nemo - 9:th-Apr-2016

If I added resistors, surely they'd work?

Also @rusty2009 do you how much voltage/ the factory LED drls are pulling? And what do you mean by the offer is there? I'd be getting @sheppy1 headlights which are halogen with LED drls (factory)

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 9:th-Apr-2016

He means that the offer is there for you to go and see him to have him programme them for you if that's required [FACE WITH STUCK-OUT TONGUE AND WINKING EYE]

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Nemo - 9:th-Apr-2016

Oh! Confused me haha. I took off the resistors to my LEDs and got no errors, must be due to the happy blue light

RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 9:th-Apr-2016

Anyone know if the leds I have will be dimmer without the resistors? I can't decide if they are or not... They did look dim earlier today but thay wad during the day and last night when I first checked them it was dark so they looked pretty bright! Ta
