Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 14:th-Mar-2016 Hahahahahahaha hahhahahaha you plonker, ah well at least you know now!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 14:th-Mar-2016 As soon as I looked in ebay I knew straight away. I've been scratching my head forever over it haha. That explains why I couldn't get the light back in easily. Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Great! Was coming home on the motorway and heard a huge smashing noise... Sounded like something pinging off my windscreen... I wasn't wrong, saw this right away Having to get a replacement windscreen but have to drive 100 miles a day to work and back in the meantime [PENSIVE FACE] anyone know how likely it is to shatter? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Jj0063 - 14:th-Mar-2016 It can't physically shatter. Where on the screen is it? Different areas of the screen have different sizes that can be repaired but physically up to 45mm can be repaired. Measure it & let me know what part of the screen it's on. RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 14:th-Mar-2016 It's around 2cm in size but appears to have little spider arm cracks (best way i can describe it) coming off it which appear to have got larger during the journey home. So I'll be safe driving to work and back then till they sort it? It's in the middle of the drive side towards the bottom quarter RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Jj0063 - 14:th-Mar-2016 If it's in your 'A' zone which is basically the width of your steering wheel then it's a total of 10mm and that looks too big tbh You'll need a new screen but even if it cracks top to bottom of the screen it's not going to do anything I promise, it's laminated glass and only outer layer is chipped.. Trust me I was an Autoglass fitter until last Friday lol RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Yeah it is right above where the steering wheel is mate...about 6 inches or so from the bottom. phew!!! i was worried it may shatter as I drive over cattle grids on the way to work which rattle the car something fierce! Haha. Oh wow! As if!!! I didn't know that lol...well I feel miles better now RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - opelastra - 14:th-Mar-2016 Do you have Auto glass ? They can repair it , they come to you , they fix it with a gel RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Yeah i do mate but it's too large and in the wrong area to have it repaired so they said I need a new one Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - opelastra - 14:th-Mar-2016 Sorry to here that , some insurance companies will cover the cost RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 14:th-Mar-2016 Yeah mine do mate [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] only want 75 quid but they were saying I'd have to wait 3 weeks to have it done! So I've kicked off and had my claim escalated Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 14:th-Mar-2016 3 weeks is mad! Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 15:th-Mar-2016 I know! Wasn't happy and I kicked off but their systems were down at the time so couldn't go anything to help... They said they will ring back today and see what they can do Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 15:th-Mar-2016 Okay so they came back to me and said they can come tomorrow morning now [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] only thing is they said the glass won't be GM branded but "is made in the same factory" hmmmm. Anyone know if the third party windscreens are any good or will they get scratched up in no time and not be as tough or glare free? Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 15:th-Mar-2016 I hate auto glass and my insurance company! I asked yesterday if they would give me a different model windscreen as I want one that will allow me to get the plastic cover to hide the wiring for my anti dazzle mirror... She said they can only replace it like for like so can't do that... Fair doos. They rang today and said they will bring my new one tomorrow, they said it will be a 3rd party one and not official GM... What happened to relaxing like for like?! Sent from my XT1092 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 15:th-Mar-2016 Wonder what happens if you told them your broken windscreen was a sensor one? Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 15:th-Mar-2016 Well I did tell them that to begin with bit they asked for my Reg and then said a like for like replacement will be sent based on that [PENSIVE FACE] Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 15:th-Mar-2016 Ahhh they know from your reg? Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 15:th-Mar-2016 They must do yeah, they asked for it and then said one will be sent same as what I have... No other way they could determine the type is there? Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 16:th-Mar-2016 Anyone know if the bluefin remap warranty is applicable if the remap is installed yourself? Can't make out if they only give that warranty out if they do the map for you. Ta Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 16:th-Mar-2016 Turns out they do but I'll only get a 6 month warranty with them which isn't bad really... Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - marcus - 16:th-Mar-2016 (16:th-Mar-2016, 02:35:25)sheppy1 Wrote: Anyone know if the bluefin remap warranty is applicable if the remap is installed yourself? Basically just start, stop and rewind. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 16:th-Mar-2016 Yeah it is mate... See above [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] only reason I haven't bought one yet is that I'm really worried about something breaking and me being stuck with the bill! Especially with having the m32 gearbox that everyone bashes lol Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - mrtc - 16:th-Mar-2016 Theres a company on german facebook offering auto boot lift. Just wondered if u might be able to get some advice of them RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 16:th-Mar-2016 (16:th-Mar-2016, 10:25:42)mrtc Wrote: Theres a company on german facebook offering auto boot lift. I've had my new tyres and new alloys for 2 weeks and I've just found a big ***** nail sticking out of one of them!!! Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk This looks repairable? Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 18:th-Mar-2016 At a guess I'd say no mate, I'm sure if it's close to sidewall they can't repair it, hope I'm wrong though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 18:th-Mar-2016 That's what I thought :( ***** this car! I had another puncture in my other back left tyre 4 weeks ago too and have had 4 more in the same back left tyre over the past 2 years!! Right slap bang on the line for repairable! http://3tstyres.co.uk/wp-content/themes/shopperpress/thumbs/Tyre-Repairable.jpg Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 18:th-Mar-2016 Hopefully they'll repair it then mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 18:th-Mar-2016 Will run it down to national tyres tomorrow and find out! 120 for a new one if not... Bearing in mine this thing still has like 8mm tread on it! Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - bhalay207 - 18:th-Mar-2016 Looks too close to the edge. I'd say none repairable. On the plus side, at least you now have a studded tyre for when it snows Sent from my LG G4 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 18:th-Mar-2016 (18:th-Mar-2016, 23:02:28)bhalay207 Wrote: Looks too close to the edge. But yeah everyone says too close to the edge...Gonna see if national tyres have any in stock tomorrow, if not there's a site called tyres on your drive which can come do it outside my house Sunday or Monday for £150 (25 quid more than nat tyres) RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - tucpal - 19:th-Mar-2016 No you can not fix that one to near the side wall it needs replacing mate RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Jj0063 - 19:th-Mar-2016 Jesus you pay so much for your tyres. Buy the tyre online then take it to your local place and give them £10 to fit it! I've done it for years. I pay £39 for 235/35/19 and a tenner for fitting/balancing/valve and disposal of old tyre. What size and brand are you after? Just for comparison let me find you a tyre. All good in theory but round my way its £12 to have a tyre fitted in a back street part worn place (all major tyre shops charge £30 to fit a tyre) and the back street place don't give two hoot's about your alloy's once bitten and all that. RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016 Bloody hell! And I can't find that tyre cheaper anywhere even just to get it delivered like you said! Mine are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk 18 inch Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016 @Sheppy1 on camskill they're £103.20 each. 225/45/r18 91V TL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016 Cheers dude [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] I knew they would be a tad cheaper elsewhere but I'd imagine they are just delivery only aren't they? I need them today.. Fitted. Been to national tyres and he said it needs replacing, they don't stock the one I need so he's going on a drive to collect me one and fitting it in a few hours Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016 Yeah one working day if ordered before 4pm.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016 Ahhh... Either way it's gonna cost me the same, national tyres is 125 or something like that for the tyre, fitted, balance and a guarantee from them that of it pops and fails in any way within its lifetime they will replace or fix it for free Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016 Oh that's not bad actually! I paid £55 each for my two budgets hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Rusty2009 - 19:th-Mar-2016 (19:th-Mar-2016, 10:24:06)sheppy1 Wrote: Ahhh... RE: Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - sheppy1 - 19:th-Mar-2016 That sounds more like it! Either way... It would work out the same to have it delivered and fit as it would to just have national tyres do the lot Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk (19:th-Mar-2016, 10:25:04)Tonto Wrote: Oh that's not bad actually! I have to get the best... Not showing off or saying oooooo look at me they're such a brand but I always really look into the ones with best reviews surrounding safety and buy whichever ones come out on top, so the same with breaks too... Wouldn't risk my life over a few hundred quid Sent from my Vodafone Smart ultra 6 using Tapatalk Progress Thread: Sheppy1 - Tonto - 19:th-Mar-2016 Nah I usually am skint mate so that's all I could afford at the time, to be fair they stick like glue. Car is so much better since I lowered it. But no next time I think I'm going for uniroyals RS3s. Just replaced my rear odd with brembo pads lol! Think when each brake part needs replacing I'll be getting brembo. But like you say if I could afford it is get the best. Need a better pod job I do!
