We've just got a vinyl cutter in work and fancy sticking some vinyl on the wheel (Mainly just to mess around) but might look in to getting some decent vinyl and might be able knock together other stuff for members.

  Courier Service
Posted by: JohnL - 29:th-Apr-2014, 12:43:32 - Forum: General Chat - Replies (6)

Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend a decent courier service? As I'm sure Kevin will agree Parcel2go have given a really poor service and are yet to deliver the parcel. I've asked for them to return the parcel to myself so that I can then arrange for another courier to deliver the parcel. So basically looking for recommend couriers that would be able to deliver a parcel next day.

Thanks

John

  Odd job weekend meet
Posted by: cornishtaz - 27:th-Apr-2014, 15:01:33 - Forum: Club meets all Regions - Replies (28)

I've been thinking seeing as we've got a few members who happen to be technically minded and have various skills of the ins and outs of the J how does a odd job meet sound.

We could arrange it possibly over a weekend meeting up somewhere convenient for all interested members.

This would be a good opportunity for people to get those little jobs done that there not sure of and we can spread our knowledge and skills though out the forum.

Please add your thoughts below and if we can get this going ahead we can get a list of jobs that people want doing so that the right members with the correct skills are available

So I've ordered some of this stuff for the rear lights and potentially the front fogs and indicators if I have enough left over.

Now sure how it will turn out but I'll keep you updated:

  How-to led reverse light
Posted by: tucpal - 25:th-Apr-2014, 23:42:28 - Forum: Lighting How-to's - Replies (23)

THIS IS A HOW TO AND REVIEW OF THE SMD LED REVERSE LIGHT BULB
FOR THE ASTRA J 5 DOOR.

So here are the SMD LED Bulb
that is a Direct Replacement for the Standard Bulb
it looks very well made and it is also Really Bright
and also Error Free.

STEP ONE.

Remove the Plastic Cover from the Tailgate
to gain Access to one Screw and Remove it
then Remove the Two Plastic Caps
and Remove Two more screws
be Careful not to Brake the Rubber Grommets on the Screws.

STEP TWO.

Remove the Light Unit from the car
and undo the Connector from the unit.

Now that you have the Unit out
turn the Unit over and Push the White Tab
and lift the White Holder out
Remove the Old Bulb
and Fit the New SMD LED into Position
then Refit the Unit and the Job is Done.

Here are the Results Day and Night.

This is a Super Bright SMD LED bulb
and the Standard Bulb looks real naff in Comparison with this
the Bulb is also Error Free
so no Problems at all with the Canbus
i can Highly Recommend this LED it looks fantastic

They can be Picked up on ebay, H21W, LED.
here is an Example Link but shop about

AS WITH ALL ELECTRICAL HOW TOO,S.
you do this at your own risk if you follow the how to correctly
there should be no problems thank you.

  How-to Led Number Plate Lamps
Posted by: tucpal - 25:th-Apr-2014, 22:58:28 - Forum: Lighting How-to's - Replies (89)

Here is a How-to Led Number Plate Lamps
for the Astra J 5 Door Error Free.

They can be Found on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-LICENSE-NUMBER-PLATE-LIGHT-VAUXHALL-OPEL-CORSA-C-D-ASTRA-H-J-INSIGNIA-VECTRA-/181596661960?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a480128c8

Here are the SMD LED Light Units and Load Resisters you will Receive
The LED Light Units have 18 SMD LED,S in Each Light Unit.

They are a very Good and a Well Made Light Unit
that are Plug and Play
the fit is Perfect and they are Error Free.

Start by fitting the Load Resisters
Plug them into the Light units.

STEP ONE.........

Remove the old Light Units from the car
by Pushing back the Clip
and Pricing the old Light Units out.

Undo the Connectors from the old Light Units.

STEP TWO...........

Now you have the old Light Units out
Remove the Bulb by Twisting them out and Remove the Bulbs
and Connect the new SMD LED Light Units to them.

STEP THREE.........

Connect the new Connector on the new Light Units
back on to the Connectors on the car
and Test that the Light Units work
if not Turn the Connector around then it will Work
but it should be Red on the new Light unit to Yellow Green on the Connector
and Black to Black.

STEP FOUR.......

There is no Real Need to Glue the Load Resisters to the Light unit
as they do get Very Hot and may Melt if you do this
Do not glue them to the Bumper they will and can Cures Damage
Again They get Very Hot.

So the best way is to Zip Tie them up like the in the Picture
then Simply Push them in too the Hole for the Light Units
and Refit the Light Units back in place
then get Under the Bumper and Pull the Load Resisters Down
then they will Just Hang from the back of the Bumper in the Air
They will not move about Much
and they will not be Touching Anything.

RESULTS.......

The results are Amazing
And they are so much Better than the Standard Light Units
they are Super Bright
and there will be no Canbus Errors.

Absolute first class Product
and i Highly Recommend them
SMD LED Light Units i love them.

AS WITH ALL ELECTRICAL HOW TOO,S.
you do this at your own risk if you follow the how to correctly
there should be no problems thank you.

Help.....I recently bought an Astra 62 reg (cat D) looked perfect but noticed it had the early front bumper. Mine is a facelift so got a facelift bumper and tried to fit. All seems ok execpt the sides do not clip in at the wings. I went to the dealer and found the support brackets fitted on the car are fo the early type bumper. The dealership say the wings are the same but are unable to give me part numbers for the later supports. Can anybody help? part numbers or photos anything pls
