Welcome back to the VXOC FORUM.
Sorry for our lack of support over the last year but MYBB is back and so are we.
Let's get the forum buzzing again... (March 25, 2022)x
Hi everyone.
For 2 1/2 years I've had water entering into the car through the interior trim of the tailgate. Not sure how this is getting in but it's evident after it has rained heavily.
The water seems to gather inside the tailgate structure and then enters the car through both of the two pop out plastic grey covers behind the tailgate lights. It's also come through the tailgate locking mechanism. The three drain holes are clear.
I notice it when the tailgate is opened fully and then the water drips out at varying rates.
It has now been into VX 15 times and had rear lights sealed, rear window re sealed etc etc and finally a brand new tailgate but the problem is unbelievably still there. Car is now out of warranty but its going in again next week - but I don't hold out much hope to be honest!
Has anyone come across this problem before or know how to rectify it once and for all? It's driving me NUTS after all this time.
I have pictures but cannot figure out how to post them.
Hi guys, vx did a major service yesterday. Started the car and it struggled to fire up eventually it did. I put it down to maybe fuel needing purging or something like that.
Switch it off it starts fine.
Left the car for an hour and same thing took about 5 seconds to start.
Now I do still have the problem with glow plugs (don't know how much it will cost, anyone any ideas?) but it still started perfectly fine.
Anyone got any ideas what I can look for? I have a plan with warranty direct so wondering if they will cover the glow plugs. Cars done 44k, glow plugs meant to last this long?
I have had my Opel Astra 2.0 CDTi Manual since Feb 2014.
I have joined your site in an attempt to solve the numerous "driver assist functions" my car has, as there are only a handful of diesel Opels in Ozz and very few people who can help.(as you know, GM won't).
Noticed this on ebay for you guys with the cdti gtc. Says parts but for a tenner it's worth a try surely. Read description I would guess it should be fine for a non stop start version.
