  Car vision satnav provider change
Posted by: dazzzdelux - 7:th-Jan-2017, 02:50:05 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (3)

Does anyone know if it would be possible to change the satnav system on the car vision unit from Aponia ( which is crap IMO) to copilot? I know copilot runs on WIN CE too so there must be a way to do it.

I know sweet FA about windows these days, so not sure how i could go about doing it. At present the Aponia satnav loads up straight after the vauxhaul boot up logo. This is my only regret about not getting an Android unit. That would have been a piece of piss to route and do put what I want on it.

I don't usually say anything in these sections of forums because I know I never look at them on the forums I'm a long term member of....but Hi lol

live in the Midlands ( Telford ) and bought an Astra GTC 1.4T 12plate in march after a frantic search for a new car when my Pug 307 went tits up 1 time too many.

I stumbled on here looking at the How to section, but most of the stuff I'm interested in doing is probably outside my capabilities lol.

im 32 so won't be doing any flashy mods. All ive done is change the DRLs and interior bulbs to LEDs and got the car vision head unit and reversing camera. It was a big toss up which head unit to get, but bit the bullet on that one

  New Car
Posted by: Jackery - 5:th-Jan-2017, 23:11:56 - Forum: Lighting - Replies (4)

I just purchased a new Astra and it has had Code 22 pop up ever since I had picked it up, last Sunday which I found out on google is the right sides light has a fault or is a non-generic light.

I looked at the car this morning and actually have realised it seems to be missing a light (I think)

Looking at the indicators, the right-hand side's light has got a space on the outer ring of it which looks empty whereas the left-hand side seems to have a light below it.

Please find both links attached to an image, do you think it is missing a light? Would it fail its MOT? How much would it cost to get a replacement and it fitted.

  Short rear shocks
Posted by: D92 - 5:th-Jan-2017, 00:18:14 - Forum: Mechanical - Replies (7)

Hi,

Hopefully this is in the right section.

Right now the car sits like this on the back

It cannot go any lower as it's still on standard rear shocks, can anyone recommend any shorter shocks that will let it sit lower?

Cheers,

Dave.

Whistle when on a call with factory BT
Posted by: Rusty2009 - 4:th-Jan-2017, 08:28:18 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (2)

Anyone else get a whistle when on a call with factory BT?

It's only when the engine is running and it gets louder with acceleration.

I have nothing plugged into the AUX or USB it was fine until a few days just bugging me as I can't find the cause.

  Diagnostic Software
Posted by: Vx-Mad-G - 3:rd-Jan-2017, 09:36:46 - Forum: General Chat - Replies (5)

Hey folks,

Happy New Year to you all.

Im hoping someone can help me. I have a laptop version of some Diagnostic Software, but this only takes me up to 2009, so it does the Vectra-C, Astra-J, Zafira, but now I could do with one for the Astra-J, so 2011 +.

Does anyone know where I can get some software from, or if someone is willing to share a copy for some beer tokens?

I have the one that everyone else does at present, the one with the sky blue background screen.

Many thanks,
G.

Thumbs Down More tales of disappointment with the J
Posted by: GOKIWI - 2:nd-Jan-2017, 19:39:25 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (3)

So been a way for a while ....too busy at work and spending far too much time re-powering my Kia Sportage - shes a wee beastie now ;-).

Got hold of some front foglight's , the correct switch , all the connectors were in place , plugged everything in and Woo hoo - absolutely nothing, all other lights work just not the front fogs.

Tentative call to my local Vauxhall stealer only to be told it couldn't be done , needs activating in software !! - WTF, another call to an independent dealer and was quoted 400 to activate them.

I have had it with this piece of crap I really have.

Oh and according to the terms of the finance deal I'm stuck with this heap of junk for another 3 years.

Only other option (apart from torching it) is to get one of those op-com things from ALi Express and see if I can do it myself.
