Hi,
Daughter's 2012 GTC had what I thought to be a faulty coolant temperature sensor. Error shown on display and fan running at full speed constantly. Purchased a new thermostat with sensor included and connected it to the cables (before going to the trouble of fitting thermostat to engine block) to test.
The same error was still shown on the display, and the fan ran at full speed.
Sensor resistance very similar to the fitted one. (17 ohms) at room temperature.
Appear to be getting voltage at the cable plug.
All seems as it should be.
Is there a way of resetting the error.
Thanks

| The dreaded Space Saver |

Every time I buy a new car, the first thing I do with it is to check what sort of spare it has - if it's a space saver I buy a full size spare to match the other alloys. I now have a cellar full of brand new space savers, and I have never had a puncture!
My current Astra Tourer SE, purchased nearly a year ago has been the only exception. As I've been puncture free since the 1970s when I had my first Vauxhall (Droop Snoot (Magnum) Sportshatch 2.3) , I left the space saver in place. Mistake.......! I had part of a wagon's braking system impale itself in one of the rear tyres, destroying it beyond repair!
I had to use the space saver! Never again - I need a full size spare! Can anybody suggest the best option? I have looked for a wheel the same size as mine...... 8J offset 46, tyre 235/45R18....... without success!
Any advice would be more than welcome please.

The normal price is already low at just £63 for a single vehicle but you'll be able to pick it up for as little as £58 if you quote the promo code: FORUM5 online or on the phone when you arrange cover between now and the end of September.
Chris Knott's UK Breakdown Cover offers as standard:

PLUS cover for the following scenarios included FREE: running out of fuel, flat batteries, lost/broken keys and accidental tyre damage.
Good news also is that there are NO age of vehicle limits.
Multi-car discounts are available too - for example you can cover 3 cars in your household for just £135.
As a member of the Z4 Forum said recently "The breakdown cover similarly has some pretty good terms for the price..."
HOW TO GET A QUOTE AND ARRANGE COVER
Online: https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/rescue/?ref=summer17 and use promo code FORUM5 (all in capitals) to claim your discount.
Phone: 0800 917 2274 - follow the same options as for new car quotes and mention the promo code FORUM5.
Hope this helps anyone considering arranging fresh cover and encourages you to try Chris Knott Breakdown Cover.
