  NAVI 600 Lost Navigation Voice.
Posted by: Roden - 21:st-Apr-2020, 15:09:56 - Forum: ICE - Replies (3)

Hi all, having a very strange issue.

Not long ago i updated my NAVI 600 to 2019 maps, all appeared fine for weeks. Then i had to pop the battery out as it went flat in all this CV business, could not charge in the car as i have to park a way away.

Now im all back in and running, i have noticed i have no sat nav voice, everything else appears fine.

Ive tried a factory reset, and even pulling the fuse and restarting, and nothing.

Also tried the old card.
Any Ideas.

Thumbs Up HID Kit Questions
Posted by: tez162003 - 20:th-Apr-2020, 14:17:33 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (4)

I have been doing some hunting around for a HID kit for my Astra GTC. Seems like most the information is around on the forum in various threads over the years but nothing that makes it 100% clear (at least to me).

Am I right in saying the following?

1. Astra GTC have the correct headlight units as standard (projectors) to allow legal installation of HID's?
2. You should get the 35w HID kit otherwise there may be MOT issues?
3. The bulbs you need are HIR2 (9012) and NOT H7's.
4. Installation requires removal of the bumper / atleast removal of the headlights?

And finally a couple of questions I am not 100% sure on?

5. Other than kits from HID Direct (who seem totally out of stock), what kits have been tried and tested on Astra GTC's to work faultlessly and not cause Canbus errors?
6. Ever heard of the stealth kit? Stealth Kit (Autobulbs direct)
7. What colour output is most common / not likely to get me flashed at every 5 seconds?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

  wiring info
Posted by: niteram - 18:th-Apr-2020, 11:00:10 - Forum: Request for information - Replies (2)

Hi, does anybody know how the electric vacuum pump (for the brakes) is wired?

there are 2 wires (Red and Black) from the pump which go to a large connector block with 3 wires

what does the 3rd wire do?

I'd guess that red and black are live feed and earth, so is the "connector block" actually a relay and the third wire a trigger feed?

a wiring diagram may help if anyone has one.

the parts catalogue I've looked at shows the connector block coming with the pump assy

  roof rails removal
Posted by: DNT - 15:th-Apr-2020, 12:38:16 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Common Problems - Replies (8)

My roof rails look pretty bad as you can see below. Any ideas on how to remove them without braking any clips underneath in order to spray paint them? Where should I start prying?

  Astra Issues – Faulty thermostat?
Posted by: dmort - 15:th-Apr-2020, 09:36:50 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (1)

So, my Astra A16 LET 1.6 Turbo recently sprung a leak as the thermostat housing had split.
Replaced the thermostat and housing and the 2 temperature sensors (one in the housing and 1 on the radiator), which fixed the leak. However, the fan is still constantly on maximum all the time, coolant level low message appearing (I think the radiator is empty as the reservoir is filled up and doesn’t drop), and the coolant temp won’t get over 75C using an OBD reader.

No codes are present with the OBD reader and the heater vents are producing hot air.

Also, Since fitting the thermostat, the fuel gauge is stuck on empty even though it has half a tank in. This was working prior to having the Thermostat and sensors replaced. I assume this is related? It was working prior to this with no issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  dash cluster faulty
Posted by: niteram - 12:th-Apr-2020, 17:29:07 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (3)

Hi, we've got a problem with my daughters J (1.6 petrol)
started it today and the central info display between the speedo and rev counter doesn't light up
it looked like it trying to say the normal warnings, change oil, put foot on clutch etc all barely visible as not lit up in red

the last thing it said was PROGRAM CLUSTER

which doesn't sound good to me,

any ideas how I can cure this at home?
