  Prizes with Chris Knott Insurance
Posted by: ChrisKnottIns - 30:th-Jan-2017, 14:11:42 - Forum: Chris Knott Insurance - No Replies

Hi guys, you remember how we often run competitions and prize draws? Well, we wanted to check with you what you find the most attractive before we select this year's prizes.

In the past we've offered £100 Amazon vouchers, Virgin supercar driving experiences, tickets to events such as the MotoGP or the Performance Car Show, Euro Car Parts vouchers and even professional Car Photoshoots.

These and many of the ideas that you may like to suggest are all possible. Please just let us know what you'd like (within the realms of decency and reason).

Just to give you some context if you're not aware of our prize incentives - usually we offer a prize in a draw where you just have to ask us for a quote on a car we don't already cover for you in order to enter. Or we may run a virtual Show & Shine competition on social media with a prize for the best photo or car.

I look forward to hearing your ideas or opinions on the prizes we've offered in the past - your chance to shape Chris Knott's car club/forum member offers this year.

best,
Nick

Car Insurance QUOTELINE: 0800 917 2274 - please mention this forum when you call.

PS. For existing clients we've now also started making exclusive client-only offers in addition to the other client offers that are always available.

RECENT FEEDBACK

"Gave you guys a call last week, got a competitive quote to renew, which I will take up I suspect as nobody has come close to matching it yet." Alex, Vauxhall Owners Network

"I got a great quote from them, and found them a pleasure to deal with..." bmwaddict, Z4 Forum

"Wow, just spoke to Milton about changing over my car and again another great service as always. I have had all my cars with Chris Knott Insurance and every time I have called, Milton has answered my call - even understands my scottish accent. Milton you are awesome, thanks for sorting out all my car insurance problems and shall speak to you next time I swap over. Number one for insurance Chris Knott. If they can't help I am afraid you might have a problem." George Stewart, Facebook

"Was a long-time member with Aviva, back when it was Norwich Union. So much for loyalty. Been behind the wheel for over thirty years & never made a claim (which is quite something the way I drive!). Chris Knott saved me over £500 with exactly the same cover!" Ghost, C-Max Owners Club

"Just wanted to thank you for your help. We managed to get everything sorted in the end. Price comparison site price beaten - so glad to remain a customer. Great service from Rebecca and Dawn, both were really helpful." Lowe, GT86/BRZ Owners Club

  Soft99 Waterblock
Posted by: Wellsy - 29:th-Jan-2017, 22:58:14 - Forum: ADS - AutoDetail Solutions - Replies (5)

Hi guys,

So last week, a great friend of mine sent me down some sealant to try.

It's called Waterblock. Made by the guys at Soft99, perhaps most famous for producing Fusso.

Now Waterblock, is made in Japan, so freshly imported to the UK and now in my cupboard Smile

It's a sealant, despite its wax looking character. It comes in a large 300g pot with a sponge hidden in the lid. It's all in Japanese but will get a translation put up at a later date.

Waterblock is mainly used for its hydrophobic properties.. that's beading and sheeting in English. There is little to no gloss enhancements at all.

To apply, rub the sponge in the container to lightly coat the sponge in sealant, then apply in a circular motion to the vehicle, overlapping by about 30%.

Leave it for about 5 minutes, or double that if below 5°.

Use a microfibre towel, ideally a short loops, to buff off the product. This is great for removal, offering easy buffing.

For best results, do not wash within 48hours.

The video below shows the left side of the bonnet which is treated with Waterblock, against a simple Quick Detailer which is on the right side of the Bonnet.

Happy Sealing! Smile

  Astra J Stone Chips
Posted by: Dangermouse1975 - 27:th-Jan-2017, 22:05:35 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (4)

This is my first post so apologies as I know this has been covered countless times. I'm at my wits end so any help would be appreciated. I have an Astra j gtc 2.0 sri in Carbon Flash. It's a VE62 plate. I've had it just under a year. It is horrendously marked with stone chips. Both sills. Both rear quarter panels are practically white!! Dealer does not want to know and I've been onto head office with no success. They say it isn't a manufacturing fault!! I've read some have had success and had it covered and resprayed. I asked for a copy of the technical bulletin q-13-005 stone chips which they refused. Does anyone have a copy as I feel after spending over 10k on the car,I feel it should b of decent quality and I'm sure I'm just getting fobbed off. . Many Thanks. Iain.

  Water inside car
Posted by: mart - 27:th-Jan-2017, 20:15:47 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC - Replies (7)

Has anyone had problems with water getting inside the car, the footwells, boot, etc, and solved it.

I had a soaking wet foam thing under the spare wheel in the boot (see photo) a week ago. No water anywhere else just in the boot.
I took it out a week ago and put it on the radiator for a day, then put it back under the spare wheel. When I checked today the foam is starting to get wet again from the centre outwards. Has anyone had this and solved it.

I checked under the roof head lining under the roof aerial and it is bone dry, so not coming in from there. Where else can I check.

I may try taking all foam out again, and the spare wheel and jack holder this time, to put in front of the radiator. As the foam was wet from the middle out it could of been the wheel or jack holder was still a bit wet.

Hey guys,

My Astra has had a service at Vauxhall today and I they have told me I need new discs on the front and pads all around.

I am not paying the £380 to do that so I am trying to find some front discs and pads on all 4 corners.

Pads are straight forward but when looking for Discs it asks the wheel size.  I have 18" as standard but that's not an option on sites like euro car parts.

Do I just get the 17" variant?

I can change the pads and discs myself. just need to know which ones to buy. Any links would be appreciated.

its a 2011, 2.0 cdti SRI.

thanks in advanced.
