  HID - Xenon Lights
Posted by: Desperado - 2:nd-Feb-2018, 10:56:56 - Forum: Electrical - Replies (5)

Greetings everyone,

I recently (3 days ago) changed over to HID - Xenon.
I had no errors for a day or so. After a day I get warnings about my lights all the time but the lights do work. I run a system diagnostics check but no error comes up.

Any ideas?

  Carplay Android Auto usb dongle
Posted by: marcus01 - 31:st-Jan-2018, 14:39:45 - Forum: ICE - No Replies

Came across this today. Basically it is a usb dongle which plugs into the Android HU and gives you a Carplay / Android Auto type interface on the screen via an app. Looks pretty good and costs about 50 quid.

Anyone here got one?

Hi Guys just a heads up on anyone with diesels, if you have it tuned make sure it's a decent remap and not overfueling etc as I came across this regarding the diesels and they are really going strict on them. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.daily...222700.amp

Hi I am thinking of selling my dual mass flywheel, clutch And slave cylinder for the astra J a20dth engine with f40 gearbox for £250 cost over £640 new but still over 550 pound new for it all, it's all still in boxes, will upload pictures tomorrow with my username in the pictures to abide by forum rules, was just seeing if anyone on here is interested before I put it on eBay as I no longer have my astra.

Icebox users.. what does the display look like behind the trim panel?
Posted by: gazz292 - 29:th-Jan-2018, 20:02:07 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (2)

I have a meriva B that i'd like to upgrade the radio on, would really like to fit one of those icebox android units i've read about on here... S160 i think they are,

However they don't do one for the meriva B, so i was thinking... does the display look anything like the origional colour display from the navxxx head units fitted to the higher spec cars??

it's a 7 inch display i believe, and looks like this : [Image: s-l1600.jpg]

The meriva's display bracket/surround looks like [Image: Opel-Meriva-B-Rahmen-Blende-Verkleidung-...mputer.jpg]
From the back: [Image: Opel-Meriva-B-Rahmen-Blende-Verkleidung-...er-_57.jpg]

Does anyone rekon i stand any chance of taking the actual display unit out of an astra J's icebox unit and fitting it to the above surround?

Has anyone got an S160 or similar unit that they have yet to fit? and could they take a photo of the rear of the display unit... i don't expect it to be exactly like the vauxhall display... but if it's 7 to 8 inches in size i stand a chance of making it fit.

Navi radio and larger instrument display changing
Posted by: gazz292 - 28:th-Jan-2018, 20:24:50 - Forum: Retrofit Research - Replies (54)

First off, please accept my humble apologies, i drive a 2011 Meriva B... and to make things worse, it's the one with the little 1.3 diesel engine too!! (A13DTE)

But i want to do a few upgrades on it if i can, and this forum seems to have the best people who change things about and generally make things work where others say it can't be done.

I'd really like to upgrade the CD400 radio unit i have to one of the sat nav units with bluetooth etc, the ones with the colour screen in the top of the dash.. but i'm not sure if that is a touch screen used to program the sat nav or not???

reason being the display location on a meriva is much further in the dash than other vauxhalls, it's much nearer the windscreen, so a real arms stretch to operate if it is a touch screen,
However the stereo controls are pretty low down, so the other option of fitting an aftermarket double din sat nav stereo means the screen would be awkward to look at whilst driving, hence why i'm thinking of going the OE route.

Anyway, would i need to find a nav/400/500 or similar from a meriva? or could i get one from another car and get the dash mounted screen holder part from vauxhaul to mount the colour screen??

I'd also like to have the mpg display/trip computer in my dash, i have the little 2 line display in there now, again, would i need a set of gauges from a meriva, or would some from a different car work once programmed in?

I presume i'd need an indicator stalk with the menu button and twist thingy to operate the pages of the large display in the dash?
i have cruise control buttons in the steering wheel... am i right thinking the indicator stalk with the menu button is also a cruise control stalk?? and if so, would that mess things up (having 2 sets of cruise control buttons)

  seat heating control module Fuse
Posted by: briangorman - 26:th-Jan-2018, 16:19:16 - Forum: Astra-J/GTC Technical - Replies (1)

Anyone know what 30amp fuse it’s for the seat heating control module?

Info I got it from,

Battery positive voltage is supplied at all times to the seat heating control module through a 30 A fuse located in the underbonnet fuse block. This voltage is used by the module to supply power to the seat heating elements. Ground for the module is provided at G307.

Own a 2.0 CDTI GTC.

Looking at installing a boost gauge.

Anyone done it? How did you run the tube from the engine bay to the gauge in the cockpit?

Cheers

From Navi 600 to Navi 650
Posted by: arazek - 23:rd-Jan-2018, 18:46:08 - Forum: Interior How-to's - Replies (3)

hello all,

currently I have a Navi 600 in my car, however I would like to use Android auto (to use Spotify and Google Maps) and I know that is not possible on Navi 600. I am thinking of changing from 600 to 650 and my question is whether I need to buy the whole package (radio, panel and screen) or just the radio itself?

Thx
