So Loads of Toys to Play with Ha ha.

The first thing i have done is to get some metal pressed plates made for the front and rear
there top quality i love them, i have blanked a few numbers out but you get what it's all about .

Next up is the alloy pedal covers i took out from the Astra J
they were definitely going with me as i love them.

Next i took the Biturbo steering wheel out from the Astra J before it went
and transferred it over to the siggy.

Next i put the LED number plate lights from the Astra j into the Insignia
they were a perfect fit and as bright as always.

Then i did the LED vanity mirrors.

And then i wired in an extra boot light
and changed them to LED bulbs.

I also did the LED interior LED,S
the Insignia already has built in foot well Lights
so i did them white but they will be going red later on
the insignia also has under door lights and at some point they will become
The vauxhall logo floor projector lights but i am just waiting for the LED units to turn up.

i am so happy that the insignia has the multi info display
and i will get around to doing the display blue at some point
like i did on the old Astra J.

Here is some picture of the AFL headlights with the factory LED DRL that i absolutely love.

I also put the pedal box on the insignia that i had in the Astra J
and i have got it set on sport plus, plus two it works very well with Siggy.

I changed the standard H11 halogen corner lights in the AFL headlights to a LED H11
So now there nice and white and match the AFL lights much better there also error free.

I wanted the fogs surrounds too stand out a bit more
so i have put some chrome strips on the fog surround grills
i think it works well and makes them stand out from the crowd
and black and chrome mix well in my book.

I'll be doing my door handle lights tomorrow and then eventually would like to do puddle lights as they look great!

Looking good mate, looks a nice tidy motor.

Cheers thanks for that Rusty...

I also did new front and rear brake discs and pads
I used pagid  discs and pads there very good.
Brake Fluid Change.
Coolant Change.
A New Air Filter.
New Pollen Filter.
Oil and Filter Change.
A New Fuel Filter.
And Injector Treatment and a DPF Cleaner.

Then i did a good clay barring and polishing and waxing with Autoglym HD Wax
And i also did a well needed engine bay detail and a full interior valet
i then took the wheels off and gave them a very much needed clean and seal.

Its only the cars first detail but i will update some better pics next time
As its not stopped raining here for days.

My next mission is to get the inside ambient lighting sorted out as the Insignia basically has none
i really miss the door lights and gear stick ambient lighting on the Astra J
so i am in the process of sorting this out at the moment
i have already done the front doors with LED strip lights in the door pockets
they look really good at the moment but i am waiting on new LED lights for the Rear Door Pockets
i just tapped into the window switch ambient lighting like i did on the Astra J they wire up the same way
and i have also done the gear stick by tapping into the headlight switch
just like i did on the Astra J but i need a better LED for it to look correct and i am waiting on that to arrive
i will finish this off next week when the rest of the LEDS turn up
i also ordered red LED lights for the footwell lighting
so here is where i am up too at the minute with this upgrade.

They work just like on the Astra J and come on with the headlight switch and stay on
and come on for a few seconds when you open the door then fade out
they look much better already
I will update next weekend when they are all working and done
also i have some white LED's for the under door welcome lights coming
so they will be nice and white also.

So not too bad for a few weeks work.. ha ha.

On the to do wishlist is..

1. Window Tints.
2. Body kit.
3. Nicer 20 inch or 19 inch Alloys.
4. Remap to 200bhp +.
5. VXR rear bumper.
6. custom exhaust .

So i have some work to do but not a lot..Ha ha.
.
Lovely looking car pal, great spec too.

Looking forward to seeing what else you do.

Hope the new owner of your J turns up on day. Be good to see it again.
THANKS i am sure it will turn up at some point
[Image: 9nd4_zpsea5fce57.jpg]

I just got the Under Door Welcome Lights turned over to LED on the Insignia
They look much Better and Now are Nice and White and not Gloomy and Yellow Anymore.

The postman came Early Today Ha ha.
When i Replaced the Discs and Pads i Noticed the Insignia Had the Plastic
Drop Links and as i Have Had Problems on the Astra J with Them in the Past
And the Insignia Using the Exact same Parts
I Thought i would Upgrade to the Heavy Duty Steel Drop Links
They Look Much Better and Hopefully will Last Longer

I don't get how they can use plastic parts for things like that.
Do you know which models used plastic or is it all Astra J's?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There mostly on the petrols i thought all 2.0 cdti had them
but this must not be so as my one had plastic

Plastic is weaker than metal.

Plastic is weaker than metal.

Drop links aren't load bearing though, and plastic is cheaper for the manufacturer.

Plastic drop links are perfectly fine & perform the same task in the same way - metal drop links tend to bend which gives plastic the upper hand.

I have Turned The Foot Well Lights
from White to Red Today
They Look much Better Now.

Shocking where are the mats????
Nice mate :-0 which footwell was standard in the j

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sad but no mats were in the car when i got it but they're next on the list..
just need to pick some up.
Looking good mate, be handy having the footwell lights pre installed too.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
very handy indeed i am only wiring up door pocket and gear gator ambient lighting
so i have a lot less work to do
Good work mate. At least it has a lot of what you woukd want to add. .. like footwell lights etc.

How does the elite insignia stack up against the elite astra?

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5
spec wise a lot better options as standard
the elite astra j is lacking options as standard for sure
everything seems to be an optional extra on the astra j
but they are basicly useing the same equipment but you get more for your money with the insignia as standard spec
Sounds about right. I remember having a hire care from Europcar which was a J elite and was shocked to see what looked like leathers, electric rear windows and light and sight as the only upgrade

The Door Pocket Ambient LED Strip LIGHTS
Are All Sorted out Now i Replaced all the LED Strips for New ones

So i Only Have the Gear Gator LED to Redo Now
With a Better LED Stip Light then that is all the LED Upgrades Done.
Looking good mate, flying through these mods ain't you haha. Keep it up.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice mate, where abouts did you stick them?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
there in the door pockets at the top facing down
as they can not be seen when in the car at all
you just get a lovely red glow.

and mod things will slow down now ha ha.

I Have Done the Nav 600 SPEED CAMERA Update Today
It Puts The Speed camera Positions and Symbols on the Nav Maps
That is About it But it will Give an Audible Beep after the Nav 900 Update
I will not be Doing the Nav 900 Update as Losing the Voice Function to me Really is not Worth it
Just to Get 3D Maps. And an Beep when you get near a speed Camera
The idea of a Color change to the Nav Display from Blue to Red seems a Great idea Though
So the Speed Cam Update will do for me for Now.

I also Worked out How to Upload PIC,S to The Nav 600 in Picture Frame
Standard Feature But New to me
So now I Can Press Info a Few Times and That will Bring This Image Up i Uploaded
Very Handy When you are Driving Down Dark lanes
And you Don't want The Nav Display Blinding or Distracting You.
The Radio and USB etc still Work in the Background also
Still it is a Very Nice Image found on the Old Interweb and it looks very Smart.

I just did a Little Update to the Picture Today
Keeping in the Spirit of the Forum.

I also Gave the Windows a Good Deep Clean with the Rainx ClayBar Kit
As the Rain Lately has Been Real bad as you all know
I Love the stuff it Works Perfect and makes Driving in the Rain much Safer.

So Now There Nice and White and Match the AFL Lights there also Error Free.

I Wanted the Fogs Surrounds too Stand out a Bit More
So i have put Some Chrome Strips on the Grills
I think it Works Well and Makes Them Stand out from the Crowd
And Black and Chrome Mix Well in my book.

Hey mate, with regards to those inner LED bulbs, are they just the high beams?
@sheppy1 yes High beam on your car and you should be able to change yours to LED's but you need H10 or H7.

@tucpal what LED's have you used mate as they look different to the set I suggested?
Ahhh that was gonna be my next question rusty hehe. Are they the same fitting as the main beam? So if mains are H7 then will side beams be H7?

Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Ordered from the same place but silver led were sent instead they work all the same error free

sheppy they are my corner led lights don't bother changing your halogen as they will give errors on high or mian beam on your car

Yes h7 for both on your car
Ahhh! Okay mate, thanks for the heads up [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
The light output from the led lights will not be as good as your halogen yes they will be whiter but at a price vision on the road and they will be as bad as hids in a halogen headlight stick with what you have
Okay will do [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] didn't realise their was visibility issues with HIDs in standard headlight surrounds...

Tucpal I had no errors on halogen using LED H7 in the high beam (they aren't on the canbus).
But yes the output is not as good I do have this set http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H11-6000K-CREE...xy63FSodjh but sadly they don't fit :-(
Oh... So the high beams could be replaced then with LEDs? Not that there's much point if they aren't as good as halogens! Ha. When I use my high beams I don't care if they look cool.. I generally want to SEE more! Ha. Will probably just leave them

As its Never Going to Stop Raining now till Next Year Ha ha
It was Time to Upgrade the Wipers from the Factory Wipers
To Bosch Aero Flat Blade wipers
I had them on my old Astra J and was Missing them on the Insignia
I am Very Impressed no Noise at all and they Work Very Well
A Small Upgrade but Very Important this Time of Year.

.........THE OLD WIPERS.......

I also did the Fuel Filter Today
As i Suspected they had not Done it
When the Car was Serviced
And i was Correct it was Very Dirty.

I've got the Bosch ones on mine. Must say I'm impressed with them but I do find the block where the wiper arm connects is alot bigger than the GM variant.

Hmm may look into getting some, mine make a horrible noise when it's only a little rain!

Mark Two of the insignia LED Gear Gator has just been Done Today
I have now Used Two 30cm Red DRL Flexible Tube Lights
I had to Cut One Down as Really i Needed a 45 cm One
i had to Also Trim the Thickness of the Bars Down to get a Perfect Fit
But the Results were Very Good and more what i am After.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30cm-Flexible-...VE7_ZEx7Kw

The look of the LED is much Better as the LED Lights Now looks like a Glowing LED Light Bar
and Less like Tacky Christmas Lights with Red Dots
It now Looks just like My old Astra J Gear Gator Led did.

I am Very happy with the Results and all my LED Interior Lights on the Insignia
Are now All Sorted Out and Job Done.
