Trip Computer Change (research)
Hi all,

So I'm looking to start something ambitious here...Basically I wan't to swap out the instrument cluster i have for another one with the larger screen and white dial surround (one from a higher model basically).

Now from what I have read online (nothing related to the J though, just older astras) i should be able to purchase the following device:

How to change fuel filter (diesel cars)
This is the 'How to' guide showing you how to change your diesel fuel filter. My 'J' Astra is the 2010 1.7cdti and as far as I know, the filter is the same size and location for the 1.3, 1.7 and 2.0 models.

Firstly, always buy a branded filter such as Fram or Mann. I bought the Mann filter from Euro car parts which included two new seals which you will need and it cost me £18.30.

Job time - Estimated 30-45 mins

You will need the following tools:

Exahust change
Hey guys

Well as im still off work till Monday I've been ridiculously bored so thought I would enquire about getting a exhaust.

As some of you know I'm looking to go down the route Baz went down with his red gtc so the option I should of gone with was a quad pipe system but they just didn't have the correct tail pipe options I was looking for for a quad pipe system.

So I went with just gettinga single twin pipe with the option to change the tail pipes at a later date. Sounds silly I know

Alloy colour change
[align=center]So yesterday I did a test paint to see if the colour I picked for the wheels would suit.

I posted a couple of pics on the Facebook group and did say I'd upload some higher res ones here today.

So what do you think.

Interior change
Hey guys

Just had a change in the interior so thought I would share.

When I first got my GTC I always said to myself that I wanted the red interior lighting to be blue but at the time didn't know it could be something that could be done until I saw Baz,s VXR and I litreally fell in love with it straight away and put it on the to do list.

I want to give a big thanks to rusty for some of the parts and a special big thank you to Baz for making the whole interior happen full stop as it wouldn't

How-to change Alloy wheel colour

How-to change alloy wheel colour.

I would like to point out I am not a painter and this is done using rattle cans.

So the first you want to do is grab a kit from eBay.

Colour change via vinyl wrap
Got a few questions regarding this.

Do you have to inform the dvla of colour change?

How easy is it to remove the rear spoiler on the vxr?

Change front bulbs
Hi All

Hope you are all well.

Want to change my bulb setup on my 2011 Astra J as I drive on some rural roads and am finding the default setup a little dim at times.

I have read through the lighting thread here: Lighting Thread but would welcome some confirmation/advice on my choices. Figured I would go LED where I can as ultimately these should last longer.

How-to Brake Caliper Colour Change
First off I'd suggest reading Tucpal's and Rusty's write ups:
http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=1350

http://www.vxoc.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=14

What I used:
2 x cans of brake caliper spray paint (from the ever so cheap Halfords)
1 x can of brake caliper cleaner (dependent upon how dirty your calipers are)
Sand paper - rough, medium and soft (a steal from Asda at £1!)
I actually used a mains powered drill with a wire brush attachment but a wire brush will work just as

How to change the exterior door handles
Here is my tutorial on how to change the outside door handles.

So you want to start by remove the rubber lugs which are located on the inside of the door frame when you open the car door:
